‘What? Boundaries are also good for development!’ say mum-shamers after a woman lets her tot draw over their furniture
A MUM has left social media users horrified after revealing she lets her kid draw over almost everything in their home - and furniture hasn't escaped the tot's artistic touch either.
Fellow parents - or those working in childcare - will be familiar with the drawing stage kids enter when they're a little over one - and one mum who knows a little about this is TikTok user only known as @layysheikh.
The woman, mum to Anaya and Amin, recently revealed that one of her tots has entered this artsy part of their growing stage - and won't be scared to express it all over the place.
Armed with a dark marker, the kid will roam around the family's home and leave scribbles on almost anything in their sight - whether that's furniture, toys or the light brown rug.
But although she admitted that ''the marker on the rug hurt'', the mum doesn't get in the way of the artwork, as she insisted it's crucial for the kid's development.
''When your toddler is in the drawing on everything stage and you don't want to say no because it's good for their development but you're crying on the inside,'' she chuckled in the video.

The clip, which has since racked up over a whopping 400k views in just one week, sees the artistic tot show off their incredible talent using a navy marker.
Not only did the curly-haired child leave abstract drawings and wonky lines on the white furniture but also scribbled on the rug before leaving signature on the plastic toys.
But whilst drawing and learning how told hold a marker are both indeed essentials skills to have, hundreds of social media users raced to urge the mum to use a paper instead.
One mum said: ''I just keep putting paper in front of my youngest and repeat 'on the paper'.
''Don't need to say no, just redirect.''
Another horrified viewer chimed in: ''WHAT!! Boundaries are also good for development!
''Please give them an easel! Girl!''
Someone else agreed, adding: ''It's also good for their development to hear the word no.''
A parent penned: ''I love to encourage my little one to draw and colour!
''But in the event we’re not in our own home, I don’t want him to think he can draw wherever he wants.''
Luckily, it wasn't all negative feedback, as there were also a few of those who agreed with the mum.
''My 2 year old has drawn on many walls, his dresser, doors, floors and I’m the only one who doesn’t care.
''Walls can be painted, floors can be cleaned, doors can be cleaned/replaced. They’re only young,'' the parent reminded.
''I’ve came to accept it & even started joining in on the fun,'' a mum chuckled.
Another person also advised to ditch the marker for a less messy alternative.
