But if you're looking for ways to speed up the process, then you're in luck - and it's all thanks to a £3 bargain buy from Dunelm.

Homeowners have been going wild over the 'grey multi peg hanger' which delighted shoppers say is "just what I needed."

The bargain buy is made from strong and durable plastic and comes with 20 pegs to hang up smaller items of clothing, such as underwear, baby clothes and socks.

And what's more is it can be used on your outdoor washing line in the summer, or inside by attaching it onto a clothes airer.

“How long on average to dry the clothes does it need to be on please?”

“Before we got it the washing would take two to three days to dry jeans as no heating in there but now they’re dry within a day and it costs just pennies to use.” 

She added: “It really is worth the money and is on offer £45 less than we paid, plus easy enough to move into other rooms.”
