My neighbor kept blocking my driveway so I left a polite note but they said I was wrong – now I’ll get petty revenge
A DRIVER has searched for solutions after cars continually parked blocking their driveway.
In a tale of urban parking strife, the frustrated driver turned to Reddit to gin up new ideas.
In a three-year-old post, the driver claimed their driveway was perpetually besieged by inconsiderate motorists.
The driver, a Boston native, said there is a small space for on-street parking between their driveway and their neighbors'.
However, drivers have consistently tried to jam-pack two vehicles into the same spot.
Car bumpers often reach up to two feet into their driveway's opening as a result, they said.
The beleaguered Redditor detailed the daily ordeal of maneuvering around cars.
"It might not seem a lot, but the street is very narrow," the Redditor wrote.
"Sometimes we can still park/leave, but it requires a lot of maneuvering."
They said it's still possible to get past the on-street vehicles because they have a small car.
Several cars received hand-written notes from the homeowner, begging for their space to be respected.
"We left polite notes to let people know how difficult it makes it to park when they are sticking into our driveway," the Redditor said.
"Today, I got a note in return saying how 'not courteous' I am for complaining about that while I have a driveway."
Now, they're seeking a more permanent solution.
The driver said they've posted "no parking" signs, called 311, and even towed cars from their driveway.
Still, the problem remains a "daily occurrence," they said.
Redditors commented on the post saying the driver should exact revenge.
"Tow them every time you see it," one driver suggested.
Another chimed in, saying the homeowner should "smash their windows.
"That’s not legal and probably will get back to you," they warned.
