I’m 44 with smooth, glowing skin – people ask what my secret is & they don’t realise you have to EAT your skincare
We all want to have glowing skin whilst also holding onto our youthful looks, but ageing is a natural process.
However, beauty experts claim that there are little tricks we can do—and you don’t have to spend a fortune either.
Tammy Weatherhead, known as ‘tamsskyn’ on TikTok, is celebrated for her super glossy skin.
And while most people might think it’s all about expensive lotions and potions, Tammy also believes that you have to eat it to really maximise the benefits.
She shared a video with her 284,000 followers on how to “eat your skincare” with an easy retinol recipe.
Tammy, 44, explains that you first need five carrots to help combat dry and mature skin.

She says: “Cutting the carrots into ribbons is the most annoying part of this recipe.” But she adds: “They should look like ribbons.”
Tammy continues: “If you don't like spicy food, you don't have to add it, but I like spicy food, so I'm going to add a serrano pepper.
"Let’s say about three cloves of garlic, and I like to use a smusher because it gets really fine without having to waste time chopping it. The garlic and the pepper are all in here.”
She then adds a tablespoon of rice vinegar, two tablespoons of soy sauce, a little bit of regular vinegar, two tablespoons of sesame oil, one whole lime, and grinds it up with some fresh sesame seeds.
She explains: “Just give it a quick toss and let it chill for about 20 minutes before you serve it, and trust me, it is so, so good - you’re going to be addicted. So good.”
The video has garnered 5.3 million views and over 375,000 likes, as many people tuned in to hear her recommendation.
Many complimented her skin and youthful looks, with one person writing: “Bruh I thought she was like 25. Omg.”
A second added: “I will do whatever you say - girl, look at your skin.”
Tammy also received over 2,400 comments, with many thanking her for sharing the recipe.
Why is turmeric good for anti-ageing?
A study published in the Asia Pacific Journal of Clinical Nutrition suggests that turmeric and curcumin may help prevent DNA damage and aid in DNA repair.
This is promising news for disease prevention and slowing the ageing process. It also:
Boosts Collagen Production: Collagen is a protein that maintains the skin's elasticity and firmness. As we age, collagen production decreases, leading to wrinkles and sagging skin. Turmeric helps stimulate collagen synthesis, thereby promoting firmer and more youthful skin.
Improves Skin Health: Turmeric has been shown to improve various skin conditions, such as acne, psoriasis, and eczema. Its antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties help soothe the skin, reduce redness, and promote a clearer complexion.
One viewer asked: “How do you meal prep this! I’m scared of it getting soggy.”
Tammy replied: “It lasts a couple days BUT you could try the shredded carrots (bit thicker) and I bet that would last longer.”
Meanwhile, someone else commented: “I eat this on the regular, it’s also good for gut health.”
