Evelyn Plummer in danger as she saves dog from abusive thug in Coronation Street
AFTER mourning the tragic loss of her dog Cerberus, Evelyn Plummer focused all of her attention on her daughter, Cassie.
However, next week in Coronation Street, she decides to take a stand for a dog left in an abusive situation. How will it play out?
The Weatherfield icon portrayed by Maureen Lipman was devastated when her beloved greyhound Cerberus had to be put down after suffering from kidney failure earlier this year.
As ITV viewers may recall, Cerberus ate an Eccles cake on the floor of Roy Cropper's café Roy's Rolls.
This led his health to seriously deteriorate and eventually plummet and Evelyn watched her beloved companion draw his last breath in tear-jerking scenes.
And when she found out what triggered Cerberus' health issues, she was fuming with Roy to the point their friendship was in jeopardy.

But in scenes airing next week, Evelyn may find herself a new companion.
It all begins on the Street when she witnesses a man mistreating his dog and remonstrates with him.
Roy (David Neilson) comes to Evelyn’s aid later on but he’s terrified when Terry, the dog owner, turns on him instead.
Soon after, Cassie (Claire Sweeney) comes to Evelyn and Roy’s rescue and the latter films Terry and the dog on Evelyn’s phone.
Evelyn's grandson Tyrone Dobbs (Alan Halsall) then decides to do the right thing and reports Terry to the police.
An exhausted Evelyn later admits to Roy she couldn’t sleep for worrying about the dog.
Terry pulls up outside the charity shop and Evelyn watches, appalled, as he heads off leaving his dog alone in the van.
She later hears the dog whimpering in the back of the van and reaches a decision.
How will Roy react when she returns with the dog in tow?

As mentioned above, once Cerberus passed away, Evelyn focused her attention on her struggling daughter Cassie who was battling an addiction to drugs.
Could she use her connections to drug dealer Dean Turnbull to make Terry pay for his poor treatment of his own dog?
