The force said on Friday that officers from the New Territories South traffic unit intercepted the red Italian sports car on Tuen Mun Road during an anti-speeding operation on Thursday afternoon.

“The car was clocked reaching more than twice the speed limit on Tuen Mun Road near Ting Kau Bridge, posing a serious safety risk to other road users,” police said. The speed limit of the section of the road is 70km/h.

“The driver failed a rapid oral fluid test and refused to provide a blood sample for further drug testing.”

Investigations also revealed that the man’s driving licence had been permanently disqualified after he had previously caused a fatal road accident due to dangerous driving, was involved in another dangerous driving case, and had records of multiple licence suspensions, according to police.
