He really hurt her – that ship’s sailed, says Love Island’s Abi Rawlings as pal Liberty and ex Jake reunite on All Stars

LOVE Island star Abi Rawlings is convinced "that ship has sailed" between her best mate Liberty Poole and ex Jake Cornish ahead of their All Stars stint.

The former flames are due to come face to face again in the villa as part of the upcoming spin-off.

Love Island All Stars, hosted by Maya Jama, will see former Islanders return to our screens for a second chance to find love.

Fans of the ITV2 dating show are intrigued to know if Liberty, 24, will give Jake, 26, another chance after their shock split days before the final in 2021.

Speaking exclusively to The Sun, Abi, 29, said: "Lib is so mature, she's so wised up, she's worked on herself so much.

"I don't think there will be arguments. I might be wrong, personally I don't think she would entertain him again.

"He really did hurt her and I think that ship has sailed.

"I might be wrong and personally I hope it has. I'm just being a protective mate.

"But if they manage to work it out and fall in love again I will support her, but personally I think there will be the perfect man waiting for her on there.

"I'm really intrigued as to who it is!"

Abi has a feeling that the public could potentially put the exes together - but she doesn't think that it's a good idea.

She said: "I personally think that will do the opposite if they get put together, because it's almost like the decision is forced on her then.

"Whereas if they are coupled up with other people and she sees him with someone else, and she feels a certain way about him, I think that is a nicer way for her to realise she still has feelings for him.

"That's a better way for her to decide it and to know how she feels, rather that straight away getting coupled...

"Most people it's your ex, 'oh my god I've been coupled up with me ex', they're an ex for a reason.

"So I hope that she doesn't, but reading the comments online, I feel like there is a good chance that they are."

Abi and Liberty, as well as Kaz Kamwi, 28, Faye Winter, 28, and Sharon Gaffka, 28, all met on series seven and are still very close.

Kaz is also part of the line-up this year - and Abi has said that she will support Liberty no matter what she decides.

"Kaz is not that sort of friend that will be like, 'no' 'do this, do that', Kaz is like a supporter," she explained.

"She'll tell you how she feels, about the situation, but she would never made your life awkward. Honestly she's one of the most wisest women I have ever met.

"Whenever I had a situation, she's not afraid to tell you if you're acting crazy."

Despite her best pals being in the villa, tattoo artist Abi isn't going to follow in their footsteps.

She told us: "I think my experience of going on Love Island - the actual thing itself was fine.

"It was fun, it was an experience, but the aftermath, when you come out, the attention you get, and like when you go places... the eyes on you.

"I feel like you feel very comfortable, being in the limelight, and some people thrive under those sort of conditions, I very quickly realised it made me feel uncomfortable and I started acting like differently.

"It made me like a smaller person so I didn't want to stand out.

"So instead of being loud in a group, I'd be quiet because I didn't want to bring attention to myself.

"It impacted me personally in a negative way because of the person I am and in hind sight now I should have considered that, but I had never been in a situation to know how that felt."

Now, a couple of years on since her time on Love Island, Abi confessed that not many people recognise her from the show.

"It's a lot more chilled, and I'm a lot more comfortable in the place that I am now, I'm a lot more happy," she said.

"I'm the most confident I have been since the show, so for me to put myself back in, I'm throwing myself back into the limelight again, and it's taken myself a few years to feel me again.

"I'd probably be stronger now, I've done therapy and I've started a mind set coaching course, I've worked on myself a lot because I'd have to.

"To be honest I probably would be fine now, but because I've finally found my happy place again, to rip that, I don't really see that as worth it in my eyes.

"But I love that they are doing it!"

Liberty and Jake coupled up on day one.

The former couple went from strength to strength in the villa, however cracks started to show when some Islanders thought he was playing up to the camera.

Things reached breaking point when they played out a clip of Jake saying that didn't want to rip Liberty's clothes off during Movie Night.

The pair decided to leave the show just days before the final.

Abi entered the villa as a bombshell alongside Tyler Cruickshank, 28, and Georgia Townend, 31.

She caught the eye of Toby Aromolaran, 24, but swiftly moved on with Mary Bedford, 24.

Abi later coupled up with Dale Mehmet, 27, before being dumped on day 42.
