When is Black Friday 2023?

Black Friday always falls the day after Thanksgiving in the US, this year that date is November 24.

The sale has grown from one day to a spectacular long weekend event, culminating in Cyber Monday.

Retailers around the world now take part in this huge shopping bonanza, discounting thousands of products for eager shoppers with an eye for a bargain across clothes, homewares, beauty, electronics and much more.

It’s the perfect time of year to make big purchases such as furniture or white goods as you could save hundreds of pounds, while with Christmas just around the corner, it’s also a great time to start Christmas shopping and stocking up on gifts.

When does the Kindle Black Friday sale end?

We can’t know yet when the Kindle Black Friday sale will end as Amazon has still to announce details, but it’s safe to say that the best bargains and discounts will be had from Black Friday until the end of the day on Cyber Monday, the official end of the Black Friday sales.

Cyber Monday this year is November 27, whilst it was once seen as the online-only day for sales, it has merged into the Cyber Weekend now - often a day with last-minute promotions pop up.

While Amazon is the obvious choice for Kindle Black Friday deals, the e-reader is sold by a few other stores so it’s worth checking them out too.

Some retailers however continue their discounts into December and even longer, so we’ll just have to wait and see if Amazon will do that this time around. Check back here frequently and as soon as we know, you’ll know.

Is Black Friday 2023 a good time to buy a Kindle?

It’s safe to assume that most Kindle models will be discounted at some point during the Black Friday sales, as this has been the case with Kindle in past years.

While Amazon will offer the majority of Kindle deals, it pays to shop around and check prices on rival retailer websites, such as Argos or John Lewis to see their discounts and whether you might be able to pick up a bargain there.

You can also check out the website CamelCamelCamel, which keeps a record of the price changes on Amazon and can help you sniff out the best deals.

Which retailers have the best Kindle deals in 2023?

Amazon will, of course, lead the way here as the online giant is the producer of the e-reader.

There are certain to be loads of great deals announced on Black Friday and even before, with many retailers now offering discounts from the start of November.

Even better, some discounts will be available into December and perhaps even until the end of the year.

The way to make sure you get the best deal is to do your research beforehand, so you’re ready to go when the big deals are announced on Black Friday.

And don't forget, Amazon isn't the only place you can buy a Kindle. It's also worth keeping an eye out on these stores to find the best price.

What is the best Kindle you can buy in 2023?

There are a few types of Kindle on the market, we've outlined some of the differences below to help you choose what's right for you.

Kindle (2022)

The standard Kindle has a 300 ppi display and a glare-free display so it can be read in bright sunlight.

It's got a 16GB capacity; enough to store thousands of books and a battery life that will last up to six weeks.

You can also buy it with or without ads that will displayed on the lock screen when you're not using your device. The device with ads is £10 cheaper than the version without, at the time of writing.

Kindle Paperwhite

The Kindle Paperwhite has many of the same features as its cheaper cousin, but, for the extra money, you get a larger display, more storage, and longer battery life.

The Paperwhite is waterproof, so you can read in the bath or by the pool stress-free. And, as an added bonus, you can connect the Paperwhite to your Audible account and your Bluetooth headphones to listen to continue your reading on the go.

Like the standard Kindle, you can opt to save a tenner by buying a version with ads displayed on the lock screen.

Kindle Oasis
