I’m flat-chested and my holiday dress haul made my self-esteem plummet, Amazon failed me, don’t bother with these styles
A FASHIONISTA has shared her disappointment after buying dresses from Amazon that she thought would’ve been perfect for the holidays.
She admitted that the shopping haul made her question if there was something wrong with her body.
Denise Duran (@deniseduran05) gives her honest opinion of lifestyle products on TikTok, where she has garnered over 180,000 followers.
She took to the social media platform to review a selection of outfits that she bought on Amazon to wear for Christmas events.
She admitted that she had high hopes as she shared a snap of the first dress that she ordered.
Pink mini dress
Denise said she was “eager” to try on the long-sleeve rose red mini dress which had ruching across the torso.
She didn’t link to the product on Amazon however a similar square neck style is available on the site for just $16.
“The first dress gets a 5/10 for me,” Denise said, despite the frock having good reviews from other shoppers.
“There’s a ton of extra fabric in the front and in the back. I don’t know y’all the color is also very different than in the picture.
“This is like hot pink and the neckline is really high up.”
Asymmetric satin dress
Denise shared a snap of the next dress that she would be trying which was a satin-style midi for $34.99.
The asymmetrical dress had thin straps and a cowl neckline as well as a cinched waist.
She admitted that she was expecting it to look “worse” than the first dress but was pleasantly surprised when she tried it on.
“This one is actually not terrible, I would say it’s like a 7/10,” she said.
“The only thing is that it fits kind of weird in the chest, but that could be a me problem because I’m kind of flat-chested.”
Jumper dress
She finished the haul with a green sweater mini-dress which cost $49.99 from Amazon’s Exlure store.
“This is the last one for now, expectations are kind of low but let’s see it,” she said.
Denise looked visibly frustrated as she tried on the dress and began to rant about how unflattering it fit.
“At this point, I think it’s me. I’m defective because the what the f**k?” she said.
“What is this? No, it’s like so long.
“I’m 5ft 5ins y’all and no. My self-esteem has plummeted after making this.”
She compared the dress to a lizard emoji but admitted she would be willing to make a follow-up video if she got enough likes.
She captioned the video with a facepalm emoji and a selection of hashtags including #Amazonfailedme.
Over 33,000 people watched the video and it racked up hundreds of likes from people who were grateful for her honest review.
Many commenters said they liked the dresses and advised Denise to try ordering them in a smaller size.
However, others confessed they had similar problems with getting Amazon dresses to look flattering regardless of what size they bought.
“You’re tiny that’s why. Lol def not a bad problem to have,” one person commented.

“Literally me trying on anything. I hate trying on things that are supposed to be flattering because I’m shaped like a ruler,” another wrote.
“With the first dress what size did you get because I got a small and it’s loose on my waist,” a third chimed in.
