I’m a hairdresser – here’s 4 things you do that we find awkward & annoying – you think you’re helping us but you’re not

NO matter what your job, we all have a few pet peeves when it comes to the workplace.

And it turns out hairdressers are no difference...as according to a professional named Helen, there are four things customers do that she finds super "awkward."

In a clip shared to TikTok (@helenrosehoward), she says: "Awkward things clients do that no one talks about."

The hair whizz begins by sharing a video of herself trying to put the black protective gown on a customer - only for them to try and be helpful, but end up getting in the way.

She goes on to clarify how she finds it awkward when customers: "Hold their hair while you put the gown on."

Next up, Helen gently places her client's head so that it's looking downwards towards the floor, but seconds later, it's back up again.

"Won't keep their head forward," she notes.

Moving on, the hair pro also points out that it's super frustrating when clients lean back when she's giving a blow dry.

And finally, she shows her client leaning back into the sink, ready to have her colour rinsed off.

Helen goes on to say how she finds it weird when clients: "Look you in the eye as you shampoo."

She captioned the post: "Hairdressers, do you relate?" followed by the crying with laughter face emoji.

It wasn't long before the post went viral, garnering a whopping 147k views and several comments - with others who work in the same profession also sharing Helen's frustration.

"Oh the blow drying is so triggering," wrote one.

Meanwhile, a fourth noted: "True story," to which Helen responded: "Every day."

Elsewhere, other customers held their hands up and admitted they were guilty of committing the offending actions.

"Feel like I’m so bad for the blow dry one," one person confessed.

Another owned up: "I do all of these things soz."

A further commented: "Because hairdressers PULL our hair during the blowout!"

And one more argued: "The blow dry one is cos you are YANKING my head."
