I told my husband I didn’t need any Christmas presents so he went rogue and it’s the greatest gift any woman would love

A WOMAN has revealed how she told her husband she didn’t need traditional presents and instead got him to pay for the “greatest gift” ever - but it has split opinion.

Cassie said she’s not a “gift person” and “doesn’t need anything” but what she’d really appreciate is some help.

She explained on her @classycassie30 account: “A few years ago I told my husband to stop getting me actual gifts because I really don’t need anything.

“I don’t need anything else to take care of.

“I’m just not a gift person and what I really need is help around here.

“So now for every anniversary, holiday and birthday he calls and sets up for a professional cleaning company to come and do a deep cleaning.

More on Christmas

“It is the absolute best gift a mum could receive.”

Cassie said she does get white roses as well as a token gift, so she has something physical to appreciate.

Her video has racked up 24,000 likes but people were very split in their views.

One person said: “I want this so bad but my husband was raised in a “do it yourself” house and he’s just like “what if I clean instead?”. Sir, it is not the same.”

Another added: “Yes! For my birthday I told my husband I just wanted the house deep cleaned. He said find someone &I’ll send you the cash. It was awesome!”

A third wrote: “Yes! I don't need or want any material things, so my husband is hiring someone to deep clean the house and booking me a spa day!”

However, not everyone was a fan, and queried why he would give her the gift of a chore that both of them should do.

One person commented: “Damn the bar is so low!! This reminds me of 70s women getting a hoover for Christmas! so sad.”

Another said: “bar is so low to think cleaning the house is a present for you, it's his house too.”

Someone added: “you are socially conditioned to believe it was YOUR responsibility to begin with so it should be YOUR present. Which is ridiculously sexist.”
