Celebrity hairstylist breaks down ‘dos and don’ts’ of scalp massage for hair growth – a mistake can worsen thinning
IF you're struggling to grow out your locks, a simple scalp massage may be the answer.
A hair professional shared the best hacks to boost growth and a common mistake to avoid.
Celebrity stylist Ryan Pearl spoke exclusively to The U.S. Sun about the top ways to promote hair growth.
The expert broke down the dos and don'ts of using a scalp massage to encourage growth.
He explained that overdoing it can actually cause more harm than good.
"Massage your scalp gently to avoid causing damage to hair follicles," Pearl advised.
He also recommended using scalp-friendly products such as oils or serums to "enhance the massage experience."
Pearl emphasized the importance of consistency in your scalp massage routine.
He explained that incorporating the step into your regular haircare process gives the best results.
"Relax and enjoy the process, as stress reduction can also benefit hair health," he said.
Pearl also shared some of the biggest no-gos when massaging your scalp.
"Don't massage your scalp too vigorously as this can cause irritation or damage," he warned.
He also advised against using "harsh products or excessive force that could worsen thinning or hair loss."
According to the professional, patience is key when using scalp massages to boost growth.
"Don't expect immediate results; hair growth takes time, so be patient and consistent," he said.
Pearl also recommended steering clear of common errors when it comes to hair care.
"Don't neglect other aspects of hair care such as proper nutrition and avoiding damaging styling practices," he said.
