Tower Bridge is CLOSED as protesters set off flares at iconic landmark and cops swarm scene
POLICE have shut down Tower Bridge after activists let off flares and disrupted traffic in central London on Saturday.
Cops have swarmed the scene in an effort to keep things under control amid the carnage caused by a protest.
Early reports claim that pro-Palestine activists are at the heart of the protest as the demand for ceasefire in Gaza continues.
A City of London police statement read: "Tower Bridge is currently closed due to protest activity. Officers are in attendance at the scene."
The bridge has since been "reopened", added the force.
A spokesperson for City of London police confirmed to The Sun that the bridge was closed for approximately 45 minutes.
They added that all protestors have been cleared of the area and it's not thought that the bridge will have to be re-closed.
