Two men found guilty of murdering footballer at nightclub
Two men have been found guilty of murdering a semi-professional footballer during a fight on a nightclub dancefloor.
Remy Gordon and Kami Carpenter had been accused of killing Cody Fisher on Boxing Day 2022 in "awful revenge" after a minor altercation two days earlier.
The 23-year-old, a former Birmingham City academy member from Redditch who also played for Stratford Town and Bromsgrove Sporting, was stabbed in the chest at Birmingham's Crane nightclub and died at the scene.
His family told Sky News they were "broken" by their loss, with Mr Fisher's mother, Tracey, describing how she was handed a "life sentence" on the day he died.
The nightclub was subsequently closed down after Birmingham City Council permanently removed its operating licence.
Carpenter, 22, of no fixed address, Gordon, 23, of Cofton Park Drive, Birmingham, had denied the charges of murder and affray.
