I aged myself by a thousand years with my sunbed addiction – my skin finally looks glowy and young again without them
A BEAUTY fanatic has admitted she aged her skin by "about a thousand years" after becoming addicted to sunbeds.
Megan Welsh, from Glasgow, also avoided using SPF on holiday in the hopes of getting a better tan.
But the 25-year-old YouTuber and podcast host (@meganowelsh) has now revamped her skincare regime in a bid to eradicate the early signs of ageing.
And introducing SPF - Sun Protection Factor - and getting regular facials appears to be working as she showed off her "glowy" skin in a recent post.
SPF creams are not just for holidays — you should be slathering them on your face all year round to keep wrinkles, dark spots and pigmentation at bay, and protect your skin from more serious damage.
Megan said: "I’m honestly not being funny but I just can’t believe how good my skin is now. How glowy it is. I actually look young again.
"Do I need to remind anyone I absolutely aged myself by a thousand years by being addicted to sunbeds?"
Sharing a picture of herself from two years ago, she added: "All I cared about was having a tan and would never dream of wearing SPF.
"The forehead is giving granny."
Megan said she is still able to enjoy sunbathing on holiday, recently returning from Spain, but is being kinder to her skin when she does so.
"Don’t get me wrong, I’m not scared of the sun now", she said.
"I will still be trying to achieve a tan on my holidays but SPF.
"A tan lasts a few weeks, maybe a month but wrinkles and aged skin, that’s here to stick around."
We told earlier how Megan has more than 40 patchwork tattoos covering her body with no plans to stop.
Her random assortment of tats include a lightning bolt, cowboy boots, a disco ball, Hello Kitty, a dog, and a carton of coconut milk.
She even got a teddy bear inking to poke fun at her brother nicking a toy from IKEA when he was a toddler.
"Some of them do have meaning, some of them are just pointless doodles on my body", she said.
"And that’s fine. Not all tattoos have to have some ground-breaking, metaphorical meaning. It’s just ink on skin."
