My pro makeup artist tip will make your lip and eye pencils last longer – it’s the best way to get the ‘sharpest sharp’

A PROFESSIONAL makeup artist has spilled the details on how to keep lip and eye pencils last longer.

Her free tip prevents the dreaded crumbling away of potentially delicate liners.

Karla Cruz (@karlacruz) of Vancouver filmed herself demonstrating the hack in a Reel on Instagram.

She described the method as "the best way to get the sharpest sharp."

The Reel was a clip of various makeup pencils sitting inside of a freezer.

She advised sticking pencils in the freezer before sharpening them.

Cruz isn't the only makeup artist to swear by the hack, there is science to back up why it may be an integral part of any beauty junkie's routine.

According to Glam, makeup pencils that are less than three years old should still have some wearability if stored properly.

However, some cosmetic fans may find that their liners are crumbling prematurely.

The Glam article also recommends putting liners in the freezer for 15 minutes if they're on the newer side..

Several beauty junkies rushed to the comment section to share their two cents on Cruz's techniques.

"I’m bringing a fridge to work," one wrote.

Since liners contain water, the freezer hack likely brings life back to the product, making it bind better and improve application.
