Former Manchester United goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar has spoken for the first time about the brain haemorrhage he suffered last July.
He said: "My health is doing well. I didn’t get much damage from it, I think. But I have never spent a day in the office from 9am to 5pm. But no, I’m fine.
"He further revealed that he is currently spending some quality time with his wife at the Caribbean Islands and also joked that he did not visit Curacao as the place is filled with "too many Dutch people."
Former Manchester United star Louis Saha has played down talk of Bruno Fernandes leaving the club amid interest from Saudi Arabia.
He told Betfred: “I think it’s obvious that Bruno Fernandes loves Manchester United.
“I don’t think he’s the type of guy that’s prepared to move for huge salaries or anything like this. Some players would consider this move when they can’t move or run as well as they once could, but Fernandes is one of the fittest and most committed players around and for that reason, I don’t see a move to Saudi happening for him.”
“He may consider it in a few years time, but he has too much to offer right now. The Saudi league has ambitions to be one of the best leagues in world football, so it’s obvious why Bruno Fernandes may be a target for them.
“He’s a very old school footballer that leaves everything out on the pitch and you can never doubt his commitment and that’s something that I love to see.”
Jamie Carragher has praised Crystal Palace sporting director Dougie Freedman amid links to Manchester United.
The pundit said: “Steve Parish, Mark Bright, obviously Dougie Freedman who actually I think does a great job for them in the background… you see the frustration of the supporters and I can actually understand why that frustration is there, even though you can look at the great job Steve Parish and Dougie Freedman have done at times.
“There’s not a lot wrong with Palace over a 10-year period, that is a great job for Crystal Palace, for Steve Parish and I mentioned Dougie Freedman before, I think he does a great job of plucking players from the lower divisions."
Newcastle United are braced to lose director of football Dan Ashworth to Manchester United, though he may not be allowed to start his new role until 2025.
According to The Telegraph, Newcastle have been preparing themselves for the 52-year-old’s potential move to Old Trafford ‘for several days’.
Although United have yet to make an official approach to Newcastle, Ashworth is now increasingly likely to leave in what would be a huge blow to the Magpies and their ambitions of breaking up the so-called Big Six.
However, United will be required to pay a multi-million pound compensation settlement to extract Ashworth from his current contract.
On top of that, Newcastle will also insist that he sits out a lengthy period of gardening leave which is likely to prevent him from starting work at United until 2025.
Kylian Mbappe’s move to Real Madrid is growing increasingly uncertain, according to reports.
Mbappe, 25, was thought to have agreed a mega deal to swap PSG for the Spanish giants.
However, the French club are doing everything they can to keep their main man.
PSG are hoping to tie Mbappe down with a new deal as they are not convinced Los Blancos’ offer will steal their superstar, The Athletic claims.
It is believed Madrid’s proposal was lower than what they put on the table back in May 2022 for the striker with Mbappe still sitting on the fence about the move.
The forward has been linked with a move to the Premier League, with Arsenal among the names mentioned.
Chelsea have been tipped to beat clubs like Manchester United, Arsenal and PSG to Victor Osimhen.
Napoli have admitted they expect to lose their star man in the summer.
And the Nigeria striker, 25, could fetch a huger sum.
Ex-Chelsea, Arsenal and Spurs defender William Gallas backed the Blues to win the race - and even compared him to Stamford Bridge legend Didier Drogba.
Gallas told Genting Casino: "I think they will sign Osimhen in the summer.
"I don’t know Victor that well but he’s similar to Drogba.
"Didier was so strong but with Osimhen, he is also very quick.
"I’m sure he’ll do a lot of damage in the Premier League."

And ex-Red Devils defender Paul parker told Danish magazine Tipsbladet: "I think it would be really charming if Eriksen went back home to Denmark. It would be a beautiful ending to a great career.
"It would add an extra spice to the romantic story of Eriksen if he went back home to Odense Boldklub.
"I believe he's very loyal. I think he would play for his childhood club if he returned home.
"He's a great legend, and he felt a lot of love from his country during the Euros when he collapsed. He's someone people will always talk about - just like Schmeichel and Laudrup."
But Parker added: "He can easily play in the Premier League, and I also imagine Ajax could still use him. He has many options, I believe, but it would be touching if he returned home to Odense Boldklub."
Ex-Manchester United frontman Alan Brazil claims Arsenal are too predictable and lacking a natural goalscorer.
Yet the pundit still believes the Gunners are genuine title contenders.
Brazil told talkSPORT BET: My main problem with Arsenal is, who’s going to score the goals?”
“Yes they scored plenty against West Ham, but they still don’t have a proper centre-forward.
"Defensively and in midfield they’re great with the likes of Martin Odegaard, who I think is a great player, but they can be a bit predictable.
“There are still a few issues for Mikel Arteta to sort but there’s no doubt in my mind that they’re in the title race.
"The wins over Liverpool and West Ham will have been a huge relief and they’ll be pleased to show those who had written them off that they’re not finished yet.”
Paul Parker explained why he compares Rasmus Hojlund to Mark Hughes.
The ex O,d Trafford and England defender told Danish magazine Tipsbladet: "All he wants is to score goals.
"Manchester United hasn't had such a striker since Mark Hughes, and it's very necessary for the club right now, but they haven't utilized him well enough until now."
"Like Mark Hughes, Højlund always tries to make the best out of even a bad pass.
"However, he hasn't reached the point where he complains to his teammates, as Mark Hughes would do when he received a bad pass.
"When he did, it was just a matter of pulling himself together, otherwise he would point fingers in the locker room after the game."
"If only there were more players with his mindset and heart, then it wouldn't matter if they play well or not. They would eventually be rewarded. The problem is that there aren't enough of his kind on the team who want to prove themselves."
Casemiro, 31, announced his partnership with the sportswear brand on the same day as the Villa Park clash.

It comes after Nike moved to a cost-saving strategy in a bid to save $2billion over the next three years.
It is a move which has not gone down well with many players who were previously ambassadors for the American company, with many stars heading elsewhere for their boot deals.
Red Devils' defender Lisandro Martinez swapped Nike for adidas in 2023.
Former Manchester United frontman Louis Saha reckons Marcus Rashford would be under “massive pressure” if he moved to PSG.
Saha told BetFred: “We have seen English players be hounded by the media in the past, but I don’t believe Marcus falls into the same category because he’s criticised due to his performances and his mistakes.
“When he’s doing well and playing out of his skin, then he’s doing nothing wrong, but when you’re caught going out when you’re not supposed to, then that’s your own fault. You have to understand that you represent your club and your country.
“Marcus is a huge name and he’s going to receive a lot of press attention and that’s a challenge in itself. Going abroad to PSG may change the parameters, but he will still be under massive pressure there too."
Bayer Leverkusen stars Edmond Tapsoba and Jeremie Frimpong could be targeted by a £100million summer approach from Manchester United.
Burkina Faso centre-back Tapsoba, 25, and former Manchester City kid Frimpong, 23, have been stand-out stars for Bundesliga leaders Leverkusen this season.
Tapsoba has previously been linked with Tottenham.
And Arsenal are amongst the Prem clubs talked about in the past in connection with Dutch wing-back Frimpong.
Now it's claimed today United are considering bids for both players at the end of the season.
