David Jason pulled from screens next week as BBC replaces Touring Toolshed in schedule shake-up
DAVID & Jay’s Touring Toolshed, starring Sir David Jason and Jay Blades MBE, is being pulled from screens next week in a schedule shake-up to accommodate an Africa Cup of Nations semi-finals match.
The Only Fools and Horses legend and The Repair Shop star teamed up for the new craft show which premiered last Monday on BBC Two at 6.30pm.
Touring Toolshed claimed that weekday slot, airing a new episode each day. It will continue the same pattern this week, however, it will undergo a scheduling shake-up during its third week on TV.
The remaining five episodes of the series are still set to air next week, but instead of an episode on Wednesday, David and Jay will grace the small screen on Saturday 10th February for their series finale.
This schedule change which is being made to accommodate the rugby, means next week Touring Toolshed will air on BBC Two at 6:30pm on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, and on Saturday at 17:50pm.
In the final week, fans will see David and Jay meet crafters from the Midlands to North East Scotland.

After only a few episodes, David and Jay have proven to be a formidable duo, with viewers enjoying their back and forth.
An episode last week proved to be pretty dramatic when Jay became the target of Sir David’s relentless teasing.
The whole situation unfolded when Jay found himself enrolled in a barrel-making training course, but Sir David couldn’t resist mocking Jay’s attempts at crafting barrels as he watched.
“Just remember we haven’t got three days for this programme...” the Del Boy actor teased.
Sir David couldn’t help but mess with Jay, and continued taunting him, saying: “You should’ve been way down with your rings on the barrel by this time.”
A barrel-making professional then had to step in and help Jay, which fuelled Sir David to tease him even more.
“Oh, you’re having the help from the professional,” the actor said.
Once the barrel was finished, Sir David called it “wobbly” while the expert gave him four out of 10 stars for his work.
Sick of their ribbing, Jay stormed away from David and out of view of the camera. But despite their on-screen tiff, the pair have said filming together has been a brilliant experience.
David said: “I’ve really enjoyed being on the road with Jay where we have built up a great friendship and had a lot of fun, which I hope the viewers will enjoy watching when it airs.”
While Jay gushed: “Working with Sir David Jason, a fellow craft enthusiast, is a dream come true.”
David & Jay’s Touring Toolshed continues today on BBC Two at 6:30pm and is available to stream on iPlayer.
