Greggs Outlet's stock some of the chain's most popular items including the much-loved sausage roll - but the prices are up to 75% cheaper.

It means you can get a four-pack of sausages rolls for £1.85, instead of £4.35, which works out at just 46p per sausage roll.

Whereas a sandwich could cost £1.22, instead of £4.50.

The Outlet shops sell food which hasn't been sold elsewhere, so it's nearing it's expiring date.

It aims to help the chain tackle food waste and help those living in disadvantaged areas to buy food at a huge discount.

Roisin Currie, Greggs chief executive, told The Sun: "We're proud to be one of the UK's largest food-to-go retailers, but one lesser-known part of our business is our outlet shops.

"Selling unsold products the next day at a big discount, the Outlets allow customers on a tight budget to enjoy their favourite Greggs goodies."

When we visited a Greggs outlet shop in Canning Town yesterday, we bought 12 sausage rolls, four jam doughnuts, two yum yums, two chicken bakes, and a paper bag for just £5.25.

If we had bought them a normal Greggs shop just one kilometre away, it would have cost £23.05 - £17.80 more than at the Outlet.

‘Excited’ Greggs superfan reveals how to take home 14 baked items from the shop for just £2.50 - it’s so easy, anyone can do it

In September 2022, The Sun visited one of Greggs' Outlet stores.

This Newcastle outlet was the first ever store of its kind set up by the bakery giant back in 1972, and local Geordies love it for its cheap prices.

In January 2024, Greggs revealed plans to open 160 new branches in the next year.

The chain will also continue rolling out evening opening hours across specific stores.

Greggs was hit with a tech issue on March 20, which saw dozens of stores pull the shutters down temporarily.
