  • Boss feels they have what it takes

The Dutch manager still believes that facing his side at home is a daunting proposition:

Yeah, it's clear. I think Old Trafford is not a nice place to come for an opponent, and we are aware of it. It starts with us. But then, of course, you hope that the fans, we are together. As long as I am here, I always have had that feeling that we are absolutely together. There is a very strong bond between the team and the fans. They are always behind us, even when we have big setbacks, they stay behind us, they support us, so we are very happy with that. But we have to take the responsibility. It starts with us. We have to energise them.

  • All of nothing for Red Devils

Nothing but a win against Bayern Munich tonight will allow Erik ten Hag’s side to progress to the knockout phase of the Champions League.

Even then, they are reliant on the result between FC Copenhagen and Galatasaray.

They need the pair to draw in their game to have any hopes of making it out of the group.

  • Both sides with points to prove

Man Utd and Bayern Munich suffered humbling defeats on the weekend.

While the Red Devils were beaten 3-0 at Old Trafford by Bournemouth, Bayern lost 5-1 away to Eintracht Frankfurt.

As a result, both sides will be looking to bounce back to form this evening.

  • Welcome to Man Utd vs Bayern Munich

It is a crunch match in Group A as Man Utd’s fate in Europe hangs in the balance as Bayern Munich travel to Old Trafford.

United will be without Mason Mount, Lisandro Martinez, Casemiro, Tyrell Malacia, Christian Eriksen and Amad Diallo for the game tonight as they all continue to work back to full-fitness.

Victor Lindelof will need monitoring closer to kick-off to see if he is fit, while both Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial have been suffering from illness.

After an embarrassing defeat on the weekend Kobbie Manoo, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Rasmus Hojlund could well be brought into the starting XI.

Raphael Varane will also be hoping to get a chance to prove his worth to the side also.

As for Bayern, Serge Gnabry suffered an injury at the weekend which is expected to keep him out for several weeks.

He will be joined in the treatment room by Sven Ulreich, Matthijs de Ligt, Bouna Sarr, Gabriel Marusic and Tarek Buchmann.

Jamal Musiala is expected to be fit again and available for selection.

Having already qualified from the group, it remains to be seen just how much Thomas Tuchel will rotate his side.
