‘I’m cringing to death!’ fume BBC Breakfast viewers as bagpipe performance takes agonisingly awkward turn
BBC Breakfast viewers were left riddled with second-hand embarrassment as the show aired one of its most cringe-worthy scenes to date.
On the morning show, Charlie Stayt lead proceedings as he was joined by stand-in host Nina Warhurst as regular presenter Naga Munchetty disappeared from the sofa once again.
Amidst the hosting reshuffle, the show decided to delve into the Scottish tradition of Burns Night.
They did a whole segment discussing the traditions of the evening and were joined by a slew of guests who had strong links to being involved in the festivities.
However, fans did not know where to look during the painfully "awkward" segment.
Before welcoming on the guests, Charlie said: "It will be a very special evening for Scots at home as tonight marks Burns Night, celebrating the life of Rabbie Burns, one of Scotland's most famous poets."

Host Nina went on to introduce the "piping of the haggis" before they welcomed three guests into the studio.
As the camera panned, a bagpiper could be seen playing the instrument as she marched toward the sofa.
A chef stood behind her but seemed as though he was unsure where he should be as he kept one hand in his pocket as he carried in a dish above his head with his other.
He looked rather unimpressed as he strolled in front of a traditional Highland dancer who could not help but laugh as she awkwardly attempted to mask it but to no avail.
The chef in question, Ben Chaplin, then overtook the bagpiper and sat to the viewers' right side of Nina and Charlie, whereby guests usually sit to the left.
Standing awkwardly, the dancer, Catherine Brown, then moved across the studio floor and sat on the opposite side before the bagpiper finished up and the interview commenced.
As Nina declared she surprisingly had "goosebumps" following the performance, Charlie said "good morning to you all," to which he was met with silence.
Later on, bagpiper Teresea performed once again with Catherine accompanied by three other dancers.
However, the performance quickly went awry as it appeared the group had forgotten their moves with Catherine noticeably out of time and also being close to a stumble on one occasion.
Taking to X - formerly Twitter - to comment on the segment, fans could not believe what was going on.
One fan said: "This was the perfect recipe of cringe/embarrassment."
Another added: "I'm literally dying and cringing to death."
A third said: "Did they find these people standing outside the entrance to the BBC? Obviously no rehearsal and as for the four dancers...."
