After auditioning for BGT in 2007, and failing to reach the live semi-finals, George Sampson trained hard for a year, hoping to impress the judges again.

When he returned to the show in 2008, George won the hearts of the nation as a street dancer.

After winning the second season of BGT, he turned to acting and has appeared in Waterloo Road and Emmerdale.

George has also starred in shows in the West End, including the smash hit production of Everybody's Talking About Jamie.

In 2007, Paul Potts wowed the judges with his rendition of the classical music song Nessun Dorma.

Paul went on to become the first ever BGT winner and the biggest success stories of the show.

He has released six studio albums and is constantly touring.

He was also the subject of a biopic called One Chance starring James Corden as Paul.

  • Where's David?

Longstanding fans of BGT might remember David Walliams on the judging panel.

He was a mainstay on BGT for a decade but unexpectedly quit the show in 2022.

His decision to quit the ITV show came after a transcript of comments he made about contestants during a break in filming were made public.

After David stepped down, former Strictly judge Bruno Tonioli landed the ITV prime-time job.

Away from BGT, David reunited with his Little Britain co-star Matt Lucas for a new comedy project.

  • Simon nearly got killed 12 times on BGT

Simon Cowell has broken his silence on the dangerous watermelon incident, saying how he "nearly got killed 12 times".

He said: "It’s that feeling when you kind of think somebody doesn't want you on the show any more. It was that. It was the closest, genuinely, where I'm thinking, 'They actually want to kill me'.

"And I swear to God, that's how I felt because this guy got really nervous and he'd slipped and was shaking as he was smashing these watermelons."

He went on: "The health and safety guys, normally quite annoying, actually stopped him.

"Thank God, they saved my life. When you’re up there you’re immersed in it and then you go home and think, 'That s*** is dark, I nearly got killed twelve times'."

  • Simon's near-death experience

Simon Cowell has revealed the terrifying moment he feared he would DIE during a Britain's Got Talent audition.

The 65-year-old music mogul will lay on the floor in the upcoming series while a BGT hopeful smashes watermelons with a mallet just inches from his head.

In a trailer for the new series, Amanda and Alesha looked very worried as they screamed while Simon lay on the floor.

A member of the health and safety team then rushed onto the stage to stop the act.

When Simon stood up, he exclaimed: "Are you f***ing crazy?"

  • BGT after-show cancelled

BGT Reacts will not be returning this year.

The show - which saw celebrity guests give their reaction to the main show - has reportedly been axed.

  • BGT spin-off returns

The show's BGT Unseen spin-off is back for another year!

This spin-off show lets viewers get a sneak peak at more behind-the-scenes action, plus lets them get to see acts that didn't make it to the main show.

BGT Unseen will start on the same day as the new series but air exclusively on ITVX.

  • The Naked Truth

The BGT judges are left gobsmacked as a man appears completely naked on stage.

In a sneak peek from tonight's episode, a Japanese comedian is seen performing a very risky act.

Known as Akira, the man performs with just a tray to cover his modesty, puling off various tricks.

  • What prize does the BGT winner get?

This year, the BGT champ gets to take home a whopping cash prize of £250,000.

The winner is also offered the chance to perform at the Royal Variety Performance.

Prior to these generous prizes, the first five winners of Britain's Got Talent were given £100k, but Ashleigh Butler and Pudsey the dog benefitted from the most generous year scooping £500,000 in 2012.

  • What to expect from the new season?

For the first time in the show's history, BGT is launching in February instead of April.

Weekly episodes will be airing across four months, making it the longest-running season.

Fans can expect to see all their favourite judges return to the panel, including Simon CowellAmanda Holden, Alesha Dixon, and Bruno Tonioli.

Hip-hop star, pro boxer, and social media influencer KSI will also be stepping in for Bruno for three days while he's away filming in the US.

The filming of BGT takes place in Blackpool with Simon taking the auditions to northern cities where crowds are more lively.

  • KSI on joining BGT

Although for a short while, KSI will be judging BGT contestants during the auditions.

The YouTube sensation talked about his excitement to be joining the fan-favourite show.

He said: “I’m so excited to be a guest judge for BGT. When I got the call up, I couldn’t believe it. I remember watching old BGT episodes and going from being amazed to laughing my a**e off. I’m buzzing to see all the fresh new talent, and I’ll be sure to leave a mark.”

  • Simon faces abuse from audience

Simon Cowell has had a fair bit of flak over the years, but it reached new levels at the Britain’s Got Talent auditions in Blackpool.

The production team found the recording of the show at the Winter Gardens was constantly interrupted by rowdy hecklers.

Despite being booed and called "an old fart", the media mogul remained unfazed in the face of abuse.

An insider said: “Simon isn’t vain in that way and found the heckling absolutely hilarious — even when they were calling him an old fart.

“He loves having BGT in Blackpool precisely because the crowds are so raucous and enthusiastic.

“And he knows that sometimes he might be on the receiving end of their passion."

  • 'KSI was like a rabbit out of a trap'

BGT's long-standing judge Amanda Holden has shared her impression of new panelist KSI.

Amanda believes the new face will attract more attention to the show on social media.

She said: “KSI was like a rabbit out of a trap.

“He was brilliant and just ran up on stage to take part in some of the acts and it took the pressure off us.

“There are a couple of moments with him that I think will go viral, and Simon seems to volunteer quite often now too."

  • Bruno Tonioli replaced by a YouTube star

Bruno Tonioli, 68, won't appear on the few episodes of the 18th season of BGT as he heads to the US to be on the panel of Dancing with the Stars.

He will be replaced by musician and social media star KSI, 31, for three out of the five days of BGT auditions.

Show chiefs will be hoping he’ll open up the programme to a bigger market with some of his 80million followers tuning in to watch the show.
