I live in a council bungalow – people assume it’s shabby from outside but ours is ‘stunning’ as soon as you step inside
LOOKING to redecorate your home but lacking in inspiration?
Just moved in to a property that looks shabby and dated and struggling to see how you can turned it around?
A council tenant has shared pictures of the stunning renovation she has done on her property.
The woman, known as LDray, shared an insight into her home via a video posted to her TikTok channel @theldrayway.
The TikToker often uses the account to share fashion hauls and decorating tips.
In the video, LDray said that people assume that council properties will be run down, with paint peeling off the walls and doors hanging off the hinges.

However, she shared that she has used her DIY skills to turn her council property into a gorgeous home.
As soon as you walk through the door, the property oozes class, with stunning floral paintings on the walls, and a large fur rug from Amazon.
In the living room, there is an elegant freestanding full length mirror and a gorgeous metal flower display.
A large and comfy looking corner sofa sits at the back of the room and stylish round light fixtures hang from the walls.
In her bedroom, pink rose wallpaper lines the back wall and a white feather lampshade hangs from the ceiling.
LDray also has an enormous wardrobe and a floor to ceiling shelf just for her shoes.
TIkTok users raced to the video's comments section to share their thoughts on LDray's renovation.
One user said: "Wow you’ve done so much work this year on your beautiful home it’s lovely."
Another user said: "Your home is lovely, I love the wall art."
A third user said: "Looks fab and I need those prints!".
A fourth user added: "Lush".
Council tenants are allowed to make alterations and renovations to their homes.
However, they must make sure that any work conforms to building regulations and planning permission.
Council houses are provided by local authorities to those in need.
They are often cheaper than renting private housing and can also offer greater security from eviction.
Council houses are allocated to prospective tenants via a points based system, with those in greater need given homes first.
The council will contact you about an available property when you are high enough up the waiting list.
