Arsenal transfer news LIVE: Gunners ‘on brink of completing £37.8m deal’, Sesko bid imminent, Zubimendi ‘move in doubt’

  • Stat's life

Arsenal once again finished second in the Premier League.

But not ONE player in the Gunners squad managed ten goals or more.

SunSport has got out the calculator and crunched the numbers for teams across the Prem - and it's not pretty reading for some...

  • Samba star

Nico Williams' wages are proving a stumbling block in negotiations.

Arsenal are reportedly eyeing up Igor Paixao as a possible alternative.

The Brazilian winger had 26 goal contributions across 36 games for Feyenoord last season.

The Times report he would be considerably cheaper than either Williams or Leroy Sane.

  • Gunner gone

Arsenal have added around £6.5m to their summer transfer kitty after Nuno Tavares completed a switch to Lazio.

The Portuguese full-back spent last season on loan at the Italian club – having also been loaned out by the Gunners to Marseille and Nottingham Forest over the past two seasons.

And he could be on the move AGAIN in the near future, despite penning a three-year deal.

  • Zubimendi update

Martin Zubimendi has left the door open for any move this summer.

Most thought his move to the Emirates was a 'done deal', but the midfielder denied taking medical last week.

While on duty with Spain, the Real Sociedad star said: "Of course, there are options.

"It's going to be a long summer, and I don't know how it will end.

"I'm not thinking about that right now. It's not my priority. I'm with the national team and if I have to say something, then I will."

Has Xabi Alonso's arrival at Real Madrid thrown a spanner in the works?

Alonson, who was appointed as Real's manager last month, coached Zubimendi during his time in the Sociedad academy.

"He said: "I have always said that he [Alonso] was my idol."

  • Arsenal legend approached about Inter job

Inter Milan have identified Cesc Fabregas as a potential replacement for outgoing manager Simone Inzaghi.

  • Prem confirm ticket cap

Premier League away ticket prices will continue to be capped at £30.

The rule was introduced in 2016 and has resulted in away attendances increasing to 91 per cent of capacity.

Prem clubs have unanimously voted for the cap to stay in place.

That means next season will be the tenth year away fans will pay £30 or less to watch their teams on the road.

  • Wright urges Arsenal to sign ex-Prem star

Ian Wright has urged former club Arsenal to buy Ademola Lookman this summer.

On his Wrighty's House podcast, the former forward said: "I’m going to go with Ademola Lookman winning the African Player of the Year in respects of that man’s journey.

"I remember him from Charlton, it didn’t work out [the] £10million [move] to Everton, then moving all over the place, the journey from loan to this, then I think that’s one of the most devastating performances I’ve seen in any final with that hat-trick he scored.

"You know, it’s just… I can’t help but look at his dark moment where it would have been dark for him. You know, especially all those loans going to another country.

"And you know what? He never had no problem going wherever he needed to go to find it.

"And then obviously, like you say, you find your place. Like Scott McTominay’s found that, like he [Lookman] found with Atalanta.

"I hope we can buy him, Arsenal.

"I would love someone like him to come back to the Premier League and say, ‘listen, I have unfinished business here so I am going to help Arsenal win the league’.

"But I just admire his journey and now he’s recognised rightly as a top player, unbelievable."

  • Gunners confirm Tavares departure

Arsenal have confirmed that Nuno Tavares has joined Lazio in a permanent transfer.

Having joined the Gunners in 2021, Tavares made 28 first team appearances.

"I said, ‘You’re the boss, who would you sign this summer?’ ‘Isak’ he said, as quick as that."

  • Rodrygo talks

Arsenal target Rodrygo reportedly wants talks with Real Madrid over his future.

The versatile forward is aware of interest from the Gunners as well as Chelsea and Manchester City.

However, before he makes a final decision the Brazil international wants to speak to new manager Xabi Alonso before making a final decision.

The 24-year-old poses as a top target for the Gunners who are rigorously searching for a new striker.

  • Gyokeres response

Sporting Lisbon star Viktor Gyokeres was asked if he was joining Arsenal by footballer Leo Ostigard.

And Gyokeres kept his cards close to his chest as he did not let anything slip.

We will see. Nobody knows anything yet.

I wish I had a more fun answer, but that's all I can say for now.

  • Victor Osimhen blow

Napoli star Victor Osimhen could be set for a big money move to Saudi Arabia.

Osimhen has been targeted by Arsenal ahead of the summer transfer window.

But the striker could now be a top target for Al-Hilal after the club missed out on Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes.

The Saudi giants will be able to offer the Nigeria international a bigger contract as Fernandes will not be joining.

  • Antoine Semenyo links

Arsenal are keeping tabs on Bournemouth star Antoine Semenyo.

According to GIVEMESPORT, the Gunners see Semenyo as a good prospect that will help them boost their attack.

However, the North Londoners have yet to make a formal approach for the winger.

Manchester United are also said to be keen on a move for the 25-year-old.

  • Arsenal transfer blow

Arsenal are not expected to sign AC Milan star Rafael Leao this summer.

That is according to transfer insider Ben Jacobs, who poured cold water on speculation linking the Gunners with Leao.

I don’t think Arsenal will go for Rafael Leao.

That is an interesting market opportunity that, because Milan don’t have Champions League football, but I’m not aware of Arsenal pushing actively for Leao and there would be a huge fee involved.

  • Kieran Tierney message

Kieran Tierney issued an emotional farewell to Arsenal fans after his departure.

Just thank you for everything from day one. They supported us through the good times and the bad, and they supported me through some hard times as well.

I think that's what I'm most grateful for, the times where it wasn't so good or so easy for me is when they probably supported me most, so I'm just very grateful and I feel very lucky to have the support from them.

I feel so lucky that I've played for this club and the love that the supporters have given me has been amazing. I've loved every day here and I've learned so much, I've improved so much and I just feel very lucky.

    Kieran Tierney
  • Inter target Arsenal legend

Inter Milan are targeting Como manager Cesc Fabregas as Simone Inzaghi's replacement in the dugout.

Fabregas is also his team's co-owner alongside fellow Arsenal legend Thierry Henry and the mega-rich Indonesia-based Djarum Group.

That means an approach to the board to open discussions with the Spanish tactician will have to go through the World Cup-winner himself.

The Chelsea legend has already reportedly turned down a job offer from Bayer Leverkusen after they allowed Xabi Alonso to leave and join Real Madrid.

While Roma were also said to be keen, before turning their attention onto Gian Piero Gasperini instead.

According to Sky Sport Italia, the 38-year-old is "tempted" by the offer, but is yet to give any indication over a decision.
