Huge pop star who had TWO huge global smash hits and worked with Justin Bieber quits music to ‘devote his life to Jesus’
HUGE pop star Daddy Yankee has quit the music industry to ‘devote his life to Jesus’.
The Puerto Rican rapper, who goes by the name of Ramón Luis Ayala Rodríguez, announced the news during his final performance on his La Meta tour.
Daddy Yankee is arguably best known for his tune 2017 Despacito alongside Luis Fonsi hit.
The song hit the number one spot in a number of charts around the world, including the UK, US, Russia, Italy and many more.
Despacito was then remixed with Justin Bieber the same year.
Over the years Daddy Yankee has released eight studio albums and performed in 11 tours as the headliner.

But now he's ready to give it all up and focus on religion.
The singer revealed during his last performance of his La Meta tour that he was going to "embarking on a new beginning" with God.
He told fans on stage: “What good will it be for a man to gain the whole world yet forfeit his soul?"
“That is why tonight, I recognise, and I am not ashamed to tell the whole world that Jesus lives in me and that I will live for him."
He continued: "To all the people who followed me, follow Jesus Christ, who is the way, the truth, and the life.
"Just like Jesus, with his mercy, allowed me to travel the world, in your mercy, Father, I hope you allow me to evangelize the world from Puerto Rico.
"Amen.”
The star also took to Instagram to share the news.
He wrote: "Family: This day for me, is the most important day in my life.. tonight I recognise and am not ashamed to tell the whole world that Christ lives in me and that I will live for him.
"This is the end of one chapter and the beginning of a brand new one.
“For what good is it for a man to gain the whole world, if he loses his life? Or how much can a man pay for his life?
"For the Son of Man will come in the glory of his Father and with his angels, and then he will reward each one according to what he has done. St. Matthew 16: 26 - 27 Amen."
