‘The slit is way too high & distracting breast pattern,’ best man’s girlfriend gets slated for wedding guest dress
UNSURE of what to wear, the girlfriend of a best man was concerned about her dress choice.
She took to Reddit to ask for advice, where she was met with dozens of responses about her fashion problem.
The social media user found a dress from Windsor and posted two pictures of the dress in taupe.
Two more photos showed the dress in pink.
The effortlessly ethereal floral mesh maxi dress retails for $46.90 in both options.
"I've got an August wedding coming up in VT, my boyfriend is the best man," an original poster wrote on the Wedding Attire subreddit.
"I just want to make sure this would work well for a dressy casual barn/garden theme," she explained.
"I’m also stuck between the two color choices, assuming this is appropriate attire," the Redditor added.
"Suggestions are encouraged," she finished.
The social media user said it was "a late afternoon wedding with the reception following shortly after at the same venue."
The original poster said she couldn't ask the other women in the wedding party for help because she didn't know them.
A majority of people online said that they liked the darker dress option.
"Go with the darker one so no one can side-eye you saying you're attempting to look like a bride," reads one of the most popular responses.
Another agreed, writing: "This. The darker one is perfect."
But some people were worried the dress might be inappropriate.
"Both dresses are lovely, but that slit is way too open for how high it is. The way it’s constructed it can’t be closed at all at the top," one wrote.
"The pattern on the breast is very weird and distracting IMO," a second remarked.
