Money-saving mum shares five items you should never throw away – did you know empty perfume bottles can fetch you cash?
A MONEY-SAVING mum has revealed the five things you should never throw away, because they can fetch you cash.
Gemma Bird, aka the Money Mum, explained that some of the most commonly-binned items can actually be sold online.
In a video on TikTok, she said there are "five things that you would normally throw that could make you dough".
She kicked off by showing an empty after shave bottle with gift box, which had been listed on eBay and had two bids, already up to £21.
An empty advent calendar can also get you money, as Gemma showed there was a No 7 one that was on eBay and listed for £15.
While you might not think anyone would want your "old slippers", there was a "satisfactory" size 5 pair on Vinted for £21.

Lego is always popular, and you can get around £20 for a big box of mixed pieces.
And don't even think about chucking your perfume bottles when they've run out.
An empty bottle of Ariana Grande's Ari bottle was on Vinted for £15, while a Little White Company gift box could get you £2.50.
"5 things that you would normally throw away that could earn you money watch this!!" she captioned her video.
Before adding: "What have you sold that you were shocked about?
"Let me know!"
"I did not know this, thank you," one person commented on the video.
To which Gemma replied: "You're welcome".
"How about empty beer cans? or pizza hut boxes?" another joked.
Gemma is known for sharing savvy tips on her social media pages, and has even penned a Sunday Times bestselling book with some of her tricks in - Save Yourself Happy.
In another TikTok video, she introduced herself to new followers with some facts about her life.
"My whole life I've never had a high paid job so I've always had to find ways to be good with money," she said.
"By investing and saving, I paid off my mortgage at 38."
She also uses clever ways to save money when she's out shopping.
Picking up a Panasonic phone that she'd seen in the shops for £90, she scanned the barcode with the Idelado app - which showed her the prices that other places are selling it for.
Doing that meant she discovered that the same product was selling for £64.99 on Amazon.
"Look at the savings I can make, it's literally incredible," she said.
"This works on anything."

And she proved that by picking up a Hungry Hippos game, which was £20 in the shop, and it came up for just £11.90 online.
"I just couldn't believe this app when I found it," Gemma gushed.
