‘Supermarkets take us for fools’ mum says as she shows how to save cash on beauty essentials just by switching aisles
A CASH-SAVVY mum has revealed how you can slash the costs on your beauty products by simply going to a different aisle.
Although the selection may not be as big as it's in high street shops like Boots and Superdrug, many supermarkets are also offering make-up and other beauty buys to their customers.
But whilst heading to the beauty aisle may seem like the best option to stock up on your shampoo and other bits, one money-smart parent recently explained why this may not be the most purse-friendly option.
In a video posted on TikTok, the savvy shopper Lynn insisted that ''supermarkets take us for fools'' and there's a way to slash the bill, which many of us may not be aware of.
According to Lynn - better known to her fans as @ohmysavings - there is a ''big mistake'' customers make when buying their beauty items from supermarkets, such as Tesco and Sainsbury's.
In the clip, she proved how by simply switching the aisles you could save money - and it takes seconds.

Cotton pads
For instance, if your were to buy a pack of cotton pads by Tesco's own brand, you'd pay £1.50 - or £1.85 for oval ones.
''But if you go the Baby section, the exact same amount - 50 cotton pads - cost you £1.15, saving you 70p.
''And if you go for cotton balls, a hundred in the Beauty section will set you back £1.55.''
However, the very same product in the Baby aisle is priced at £1.50, saving 5p on your total bill.
Cotton buds
According to the money-smart mum's video, a box of 200 cotton buds in the Beauty section is going for 60p - and although it may not seem like a lot, there's an even better deal waiting for you in the Baby aisle.
Here, shoppers can find a box of a whopping 300 cotton buds for 75p.
Advising others to not sleep on this discovery, Lynn said: ''So, walk your two feet to the Baby section and save yourself some money!''
Dozens raced to comments to thank Lynn, as well as share their thoughts.
One said: ''Bloody supermarkets. Thanks for sharing, this is so useful!''
A fellow parent chimed in: ''As a mum, I buy all of these in the baby section. Aldi is so cheap for cotton pads/cotton buds.''
''Same with moist toilet wipes, the potty training wipes are cheaper,'' someone shared their tip.
''I get reusable ones that you can wash! Saves rebuying them loads!'' another penned.
