Savvy homeowner shares £6 B&Q buy that makes painting behind radiators a doddle and ‘changed her life’ when redecorating
PAINTING can be a tiresome and time-consuming job, especially when it's in corners of your home that aren't the easiest to reach.
TikToker Phoebe, aka @dailypheobs, has a solution to the issue and took to the platform to share her find.
"If you are struggling to paint behind your radiators I have got the trick," she said.
"Get yourselves down to B&Q and get yourselves a Long Reach Paint pad.
"Because honestly, this has changed my life.."
The clips show Phoebe dipping the pad into the dark green paint she was using and carefully swiping the pad across the white wall behind her radiator.

"I mean, look at that. Look at that swipe!" she continued.
"I would have paid more than £6 for this.
"Thank me later guys 'cause this is a game changer."
People took to the comments to say they would be using the hack.
"Ooow thanks, I’m going to buy one," one person said.
Another wrote: "Off to B&Q [car emojis]."
"Thank you for this tip! I’ve been taping a paint pad to a stick but it always falls off," someone else penned.
A fourth commented: "OMG [mind blown emoji."
However, some others weren't as convinced.
"Removing radiators is honestly super easy - don't be intimidated by it, it's a doddle!" one user wrote.
"Just get a radiator roller?" another wrote.
You can buy the pad online here.
Its description reads: "GoodHome small paint pad with long reach handle is suitable for applying emulsion to smooth hard-to-reach walls and ceilings.
"[It is] perfect for painting awkward spaces such as behind radiators, pipes, basins, toilets and appliances.
"Save time and effort with no need to remove radiators or heavy appliances prior to painting with no problem.
The pad is to be used with water-based paint.
The paint pad has received some rave reviews online.
"Bought this to do behind a radiator, and found that it was absolutely amazing both for that AND for cutting in.
Four cheap home renovation tricks
YOU don't have to spend loads to give a room a new look. Here are five other home renovation tricks you can try.
Kitchen cupboards
One way to give your kitchen a complete transformation for less is to change the look of the kitchen cupboards. There are loads of different vinyl coverings out there to choose from, and it's a quick and easy way to update your home.
Handles
Another thing you can try that won't break the bank is to change up the handles. You can pick up relatively cheap handles in DIY stores, or even in the charity shop. Adding new ones to your kitchen cupboards, or doors in your house, can be extremely effective.
Leftovers
Most of us have old half-used tins of paint in the garage, but they're often forgotten about. However, there may be enough in the pot to paint a feature wall in another room, and you won't have to spend a penny.
Freebies
It's worth checking your local Facebook Marketplace, or Freecycle, to see what other people are getting rid of. As they say, one person's trash is another person's treasure. And if someone's planning to revamp a room, they might want to get rid of a sofa, or a coffee table, which you could use to give a lounge a new look.
"Saved loads of time and gave me a fabulous straight line (as long as you don't overload it with paint)," wrote one reviewer.
"This really helped to get back off the cupboards. A little awkward to get the right pressure but it did give smooth coverage. I think this would be good for behind radiators," a second said.
However, they did add: "I would give it five but the pads are difficult getting on and off. I’m sure there’s a knack to it."

"Bought this to more quickly touch-up bedroom paint. Very easy to use and never found there to be too much paint on it.
"and when there was, it easily picks up the excess and paints it elsewhere). Will look at getting a bigger one for larger walls," penned a third.
