Prince Harry flew 5,000 miles from Los Angeles to London on Tuesday and saw King Charles for a 30-minute chat.

The meeting between Harry and Charles, without the Duchess of Sussex and their children, raised hopes they will be reconciled despite their troubled relationship.

It was the first time he and Charles had met in private since Queen Elizabeth II died in September 2022, though they have been in telephone contact.

Royal fans are expected to see Meghan and Harry next week, as they take part in a three-day event that is very close to their hearts.

More on the royals

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will spend Valentine’s Day in Canada to join the One Year to Go festivities ahead of the 2025’s Invictus Games.

The Vancouver Whistler games - which are due to take place between February 8 - 16, 2025 - are to be the first winter sporting event in Invictus history.

Events will include alpine skiing, Nordic skiing, skeleton, wheelchair curling, indoor rowing, sitting volleyball, swimming, wheelchair basketball, and wheelchair rugby.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s trip will start on February 14, according to People, and will kickstart the one-year countdown to the next Invictus Games.

The 2025 event will be held in British Columbia, Canada, and will see up to 550 competitors from 25 nations take part in the sporting challenges.

Next week, Meghan and Harry could take part in activities at the Participating Nations Winter Training Camp.

They are expected to also meet with members of the Invictus community, including team managers, coaches, and competitors.

Prince Harry founded the Invictus Games in 2014 for international wounded, injured, and sick service personnel and veterans.

The games have previously been held in London 2014, Orlando 2016, Toronto 2017, Sydney 2018 and the Netherlands 2022.

Harry said in a statement: “The Invictus Games Vancouver Whistler 2025 will offer a global platform to expand the range and profile of winter adaptive sports.

I don’t think anyone was surprised that Harry didn’t meet his brother William on his whistle-stop visit to the UK.

“With deep respect, I’m also pleased to share that the Games in Canada will be held in partnership with the First Nations, in the spirit of truth and reconciliation with indigenous communities.”

This follows Harry creating a five-episode, behind-the-scenes documentary called Heart of Invictus, which aired on Netflix as part of the Sussexes’ brand deal.

Following Harry’s visit, Charles looked happy with the reunion as he was pictured for the first time since the Palace announced his cancer diagnosis on Monday.

How Charles bravely revealed diagnosis to help others

KING Charles has bravely broken with royal protocol by sharing his cancer diagnosis.

Senior royals have in past been tight-lipped about their health battles.

The last top royal diagnosed with cancer was Charles's grandfather George VI.

Heavy smoker George had his left lung removed for "structural abnormalities" in September 1951, months before he died.

The "abnormalities" were actually a life-threatening carcinoma, but the public never learned about George's cancer ordeal.

Buckingham Palace said Charles wanted to share his cancer diagnosis to boost "public understanding" for cancer patients worldwide.

William and Harry have not spoken for more than a year, it is understood, and they didn’t meet up during Harry’s transatlantic dash to London.

Royal author Phil Dampier told Fabulous: “I don’t think anyone was surprised that Harry didn’t meet his brother William on his whistle-stop visit to the UK.

“They are as far apart as ever and William’s priority is to look after Kate as she recovers from abdominal surgery and to step up his royal duties to cover for the King.”

The Prince of Wales instead "remains focused" on looking after wife Kate Middleton, who is currently recovering from abdominal surgery.

Dad-of-three Wills is helping out as Kate takes extended leave from public duties until after Easter.
