Channel 4 viewers threaten to boycott ‘irresponsible’ Fur Babies for showcasing ‘backdoor breeders’
VIEWERS of Channel 4's latest show Fur Babies have threatened to boycott the series and have branded it 'irresponsible'.
Many critics of the show, fronted by vets Dr. James Greenwood and Dr Bolu Esu, have also issued an urgent warning to any one watching along at home.
The programme follows the two vets as they assist in the delivery of new pups and kittens often under difficult circumstances.
In the latest episode, James assisted a Cavapoochon named Bindi went into labour with a whopping nine babies.
It was tough and go at the last moment with fears that Bindi was unable to deliver the ninth and final puppy.
Thankfully, all went to plan and the dog was born safe and sound but it did not stop furious critics from unleashing a war of words on the veterinary programme.

Raging fans took aim at the show for promoting "backdoor breeders" when many dogs are in rescue shelters desperate for a home.
Berating the broadcaster, one angered viewer said: "What are you doing? There's overcrowded shelters all over the nation and its Xmas to boot and you show #FurBabies.
"Irresponsible programming."
Another penned: "#Channel4 once again showcasing backdoor breeders."
As someone else seethed: "@Channel4 Fur Babies is an actual disgrace, showcasing backyard breeders and from the same channel who broadcast #TheDogHouse."
They then added: "Adopt don't shop."
When Fur Babies was first announced, James Greenwood said: "Pet pregnancy is not always an easy road.
"We want to highlight the ups and downs of pet pregnancies and show how important it is for families that are thinking of breeding their pets to do so under the guidance and support of their vets, as we’ve seen first-hand the upsetting consequences of unscrupulous pet breeding over the past few years.”
Bolu Esu added: "It’s exciting to be part of a programme that’s focusing on the nuances of pet ownership and here we are first hand, able to showcase the marvel of pet pregnancies but also demonstrate all the factors that contribute to breeding our pets responsibly."
He previously teased a unique experience which saw him "shoulder deep" with both arms inside of a cow in a moment set to be featured on the show.
