Nestle post heartbreaking video after discontinuing fan-favourite chocolate bar and people are devastated
CHOCOLATE lovers have been left heartbroken after yet another fan-favourite has been axed.
Nestle took to social media to share a devastating video, saying it was time to wave goodbye to a childhood favourite.
The chocolatiers announced the breakaway bar was no longer going to be in production.
The final batch of the classic lunchbox addition was made last month so you only have a short time to stock up if you aren't ready to say goodbye just yet.
It was first created in 1970 and acquired by Nestle in 1980 but after falling sales it has decided to breakaway from the tasty treat.
The digestive biscuit is covered in a thick layer of milk chocolate - and was a staple snack for many UK kids.

Taking to TikTok the company said: "Saying goodbye to a classic."
They then posted a series of snaps with one reading "To Do... discontinue Breakaway."
One picture saw Nestle's social media team place the chocolate bars in the shape of a heart - and then break it into two pieces to visualise the heartbreak of saying goodbye.
Another picture saw them put a Breakaway in their office bin.
“We know fans will be disappointed to see it go,” said a Nestlé spokesperson.
“We have seen a decline in the sales of Breakaway over the past few years and, unfortunately, we had to make the difficult decision to discontinue it.”
Fans of the chocolate bar were definitely disappointed to hear it would be going forever.
Thousands of people flocked to the comments section of the announcement posted on Nestle's TikTok account revealing their heartbreak.
One person wrote: "First you came for our animal bars. Now this," after the brand discontinued the chocolate after 60 years of production.
Another commented: "I am heartbroken."
"Used to be my fav thing in my lunchbox in primary school," penned a third.
Meanwhile a fourth said: "NESTLÉ DONT DO THIS TO ME."
"Don’t take away my breakaway,” claimed a fifth.
Someone else added: "This is actually wounding… why do this?"
