‘Just awful!’ rage Coronation Street fans as they blast couple with ‘no chemistry whatsoever’

CORONATION Street fans have blasted an 'awful' couple for having 'no chemistry whatsoever'.

The ITV soap has seen a number of new couples form in recent weeks, including Bethany Platt reuniting with Daniel Osbourne after her return and her mum Sarah embarking on a new romance with former bad boy Damon Hay.

However, some Coronation Street fans are more concerned with Tracy Barlow cheating on husband Steve with footballer-turned-decorator Tommy Orpington.

Tommy arrived back in Weatherfield last month and sparks soon flew between him and Tracy after he was hired to decorate her and Steve's bedroom.

After Steve went away on a work trip, Tracy and Tommy couldn't resist each other and even ended up romping on the floor of the florists, but some Corrie viewers are not convinced by them.

Taking to a soap fan forum, one raged: "Tommy O and Tracy have absolutely no on-screen chemistry what so ever. And as if anybody would try and get "intimate" on a hard lino shop floor!!

"In my mind they have already spoilt the potential for a character by putting him in an affair with Tracy almost immediately on his longer appearances.

"As others have said he is not a bad actor (so much better than plenty of the existing ones). It would have been better if they had introduced him for longer and then paired him with someone else.

"Maybe he would have worked better with Sarah, as her and Damon are another poor pairing with no on-screen chemistry."

Another fan replied: "Horrible, trashy, nasty just awful eeewwww."

A third commented: "That sounds like a good pairing. You are absolutely right. Sarah and Damon have no on-screen chemistry.

"But then neither did Sarah and Adam. For a few years now, Sarah's SLs have been all about men, sex, babies and drinkng wine. Although, the factory does feature and Uncle Stephen was a diversion!"

The original poster replied back: "Thanks. Actually thinking about it a total swap would have worked better in my opinion. Sarah & Tommy and Tracy & Damon.

"It would make more sense for feisty Tracy to be tempted to be unfaithful by bad boy Damon as opposed to "Mr Bland" personality Tommy."

But others didn't agree, with one Corrie fan replying: "I actually thought Tracy and Tommy had great chemistry! It seemed quite natural to me."

Meanwhile on X - formerly Twitter - another commented: "Oh for goodness sake! Everyone saw something between Tracy & Tommy from a mile off. Steve wouldn't have left the two of them alone in real life."
