Nick Tilsley and Leanne Battersby horrified as they get Harvey Gaskell bombshell in Coronation Street

OLD wounds are reopened next week for Nick Tilsley and Leanne Battersby as they hear from Harvey Gaskell.

The Coronation Street couple are shocked when Natasha Blakeman's murder is unexpectedly revisited and Damon Hay gets involved.

Trouble is ahead for Weatherfield residents as Harvey Gaskell (portrayed by Will Mellor) is slowly making his way back to the cobbles.

The criminal has been behind bars for several years for the murder of Natasha Blakeman.

But while he is guilty of the crime, a stranger has unexpectedly decided to step up and take his place in prison.

Next week on ITV, a family liaison officer calls to tell Nick Tilsley (Ben Price) that another man has come forward claiming that he killed Natasha and Harvey is planning an appeal.

When Nick and his other half Leanne Battersby (Jane Danson) tell Sarah Platt (Tina O'Brien) and Damon Hay (Ciarán Griffiths) about Harvey’s appeal, Damon reckons that his brother must be paying someone to carry the can. 

And Damon is on the money as Harvey has begun to make his way out of prison with the help of solicitor Adam Barlow (Sam Robertson).

Viewers of the Manchester-based program will know that Adam, who is desperate to get rid of his love rival Damon, turned to Harvey for help.

Harvey accepted to play along and get rid of Damon if Adam agreed to help him out of his cell.

Adam was eventually led to the conclusion that another individual would have to take the blame for Natasha's murder and a man named John was willing to do so.

However, Adam didn't expect for John to be a cancer patient.

In other scenes airing next week, as John awaits his chemo, Adam quizzes him about his true whereabouts on the night of Natasha’s murder.

Adam then calls Harvey in prison and tells him there’s a problem with John’s evidence as there’s CCTV footage of him visiting a shop when he was supposedly murdering Natasha.

Harvey instructs him to destroy the footage and Adam despairs.

Can he pull it off?

Later on, Nick tells Dee-Dee Bailey (Channique Sterling-Brown) about Harvey’s appeal and how worried he is for his son Sam’s sake.

Dee-Dee asks him for all the details and promises to look into it but she clearly has an inkling something isn't quite right.

When Dee-Dee returns to the office, she looks Adam straight in the eye and asks him if he’s working on Harvey’s appeal. 

What will Adam respond?

Will Adam and Harvey's plan work?

Could Adam pay the price?
