‘Know your audience’ people say as they warn wedding guest her dress is ‘far too short’ and screams ‘look at me’
FROM being the wrong colour to too revealing, choosing the perfect wedding guest dress is always a tricky task.
But if there's one thing that's important to remember, it's to never steal the attention away from the bride.
Unfortunately, one woman has been slammed for doing just that after sharing a snap of the bright orange mini dress she planned on wearing to a friend's impending wedding day.
Taking to Reddit, she posted a photo of the petite bandeau-style frock in question which comes to thigh high and puff ball.
Address forum users, she then asked: "Is this too much? I don’t want you to outshine the bride."
She went on to explain how the wedding will be in May so spring/summer and that she's dark skin just like the model wearing the dress.

"I usually wear bright colours and dresses as well in the summer but not this girly - I used to," the wedding guest continued.
"The bride is fun and she also said there is going to be lots of dancing which I love! Is it too much?"
But it wasn't long before the post garnered quite the reaction, with several people slamming the dress for being "far too short."
"Do not wear this to a wedding. You’re not the main character," warned one.
A second penned: "Cute for sure!!! BUT….Way too much lol."
A third agreed: "This is definitely a look at me, party dress. If you really don’t want to outshine the bride, I’d keep looking."
Meanwhile, a fourth noted: "It might work for a wedding in a cool younger crowd, but I'm really feeling this dress as one to wear at your own birthday party OP. It's very "look at me", I think it's really cute."
Another commented: "This dress is gorgeous, and also pretty eye-grabbing. I'd avoid wearing it to a wedding."
And one more chimed in: "This party dress is adorable and fun, I love it. But.. it might be too short for a wedding.
"This is where you need to “know your audience”, venue, etc. Some events are more conservative than others. If it’s a Brazilian wedding (like one I went to last year), the dress would be perfect."
