Cathay Pacific flight to Hong Kong forced to turn back to Paris after mechanical problem

Mechanical problems forced a Cathay Pacific Airways flight heading to Hong Kong to return to Paris less than an hour into its journey on Wednesday.

Cathay Pacific flight 260 took off from Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport at around 1pm but turned back after flight crew discovered the flaps on the plane’s wings were not retracting, according to media reports.

Hong Kong’s flag carrier apologised for the inconvenience caused and said no passengers were injured.
