Actress & singer Miho Nakayama found dead in bath hours before she was due to go on stage at Christmas concert

ACTRESS and singer Miho Nakayama has been tragically found dead in the bath at her home - hours before she was due to go on stage at a Christmas concert.

The 54-year-old was known for starring in the 1995 movie Love Letter and her success as a singer in the 1980s and 90s.

The Japanese star failed to show up to work on Friday which led a member of team to her home - where they tragically found her unresponsive.

They called paramedics who confirmed her death at the scene, local media reports.

Miho was to perform at a Christmas show in Osaka today - but it was cancelled before the announcement of her death was made.

A statement published by her agency to her website confirmed her tragic death.

It read: "We are stunned by the sudden occurrence of this event."

Her cause of death has not been confirmed.

Miho's tragic death comes a few days after actor Scott L. Schwartz died at the age of 65 at his home in Louisiana.

Schwartz, who had a background as a professional wrestler, was best known for starring alongside George Clooney and Brad Pitt in the Ocean's Eleven film franchise.

He appeared in 2001's Ocean's Eleven, 2004's Ocean's Twelve and 2007's Ocean's Thirteen in the role of the strongman who helped with the band of thieves.

The 6ft 10in actor died from congestive heart failure in Covington, his rep said.

Clooney paid tribute to Schwartz - describing him as a "gentle soul".

He said: "I'm sorry to hear that Scott is gone.

"We did three films together and I've never been so gently punched.

"He was a gentle soul and he will be dearly missed."

Schwartz's rep told Variety: "Those who know Scott personally associated him with being a jolly person, so full of life, a strong loving person, foodie and travel aficionado.

"Scott truly loved life and everyone that he met along the way.

"When he wasn't acting, wrestling or telling jokes he spent his time visiting children with cancer at children's hospitals."

Schwartz is survived by his wife Misty and kids Angela and Adam.
