We bought the house nobody wanted & but now people ‘can’t believe it’s the same property’ it looks so ‘amazing’

A WOMAN has shared how she turned a property 'that nobody wanted' into her dream home, and people can't believe it's the same building.

Interior designer Reena Simon and her husband bought a 1960s bungalow in Wales in 2018 and started their mission to turn it into a home for themselves and their three daughters.

Reena shared their home-renovation journey on her Instagram page, where she is known as @hygge_for_home.

In a video, showcasing the property's dramatic transformation, she said: "We all have a different story to tell and different life experiences which have led us to wherever we are now.

"I am sharing a little of my story today. I haven’t shared what the interior was like when we bought the bungalow for a long time so here it is!

"It was tired and dated and the bungalow was single storey. We gutted it, left 3 walls standing and added another floor."

The video shows clips of the building when it was first purchased. It looks drab and old fashioned with ugly red carpets and outdated frosted glass windows.

"It needed a new lease of life and a new story", Reena said in the video.

The designer then showed clips of the home as it is now, five years later, and the transformation is incredible.

A second floor has been added to the building, which is now covered in black cladding.

The interior is incredibly sleek and stylish, with the bottom floor entirely open plan.

Sheepskin throws and cushions are scattered around the living area and a wood fire gives the house a homely feel.

Reena said that the interior of her home is inspired by a Nordic style and aims to embody "the cosiness of Scandinavia".

She added that she and her husband still haven't finished renovating the property, but added that "It is not a race".

Instagram users rushed to the comment's section of Reena's video to share their disbelief at the house's transformation.

One user said: "Your home is the greatest renovation project ever. It is styled to perfection with attention to detail down to the last tap! It's a thing of beauty."

Another user added: "I think it looks amazing! You have created a home fit for a modern family."

A third added: "I can't believe that's the same building!"
