Nigel Farage blasted for using ‘dog whistle’ tactics as he attacked Rishi Sunak for his early exit on D-Day
NIGEL Farage has been blasted for using “dog whistle” tactics as he attacked the Prime Minister for leaving D-Day commemorations early.
The Reform leader was attacked for using “ill-advised” comments by Cabinet Minister Mel Stride after suggesting the PM doesn’t understand “our culture”.
He told the BBC: “He is utterly disconnected by class, by privilege, from how the ordinary folk in this country feel.
"He revealed that, I think spectacularly, when he left Normandy early.
“Out there now there are millions and millions of people who were Conservative voters, traditional Conservative voters, not the red-wallers, who are now thinking ‘Do we go on supporting the Conservatives or do we support Reform?’
“This is going to be, I think, the acid test of this election.”

Meanwhile, Mr Stride insisted Sunak will lead the Tories into the election despite the D-Day blunder.
Mr Stride was asked on Sky News’ Sunday Morning show: “Is he going to lead you into this election?”
Stride: “Absolutely and there should be no question about that.”
