Legendary BBC game show returning to screens for two brand new series after ratings boom
A LEGENDARY BBC game show is returning to screens for two brand new series after a ratings boom.
A number of classic shows have been revived on TV in recent years, including Gladiators on BBC One and Wheel of Fortune on ITV.
The BBC also brought back Blankety Blank - with Bradley Walsh as the host - in 2020 with a Christmas Special before a new series aired in October 2021.
Since then, the show has continued to grow in popularity and the third series aired in Autumn last year.
Now it has been confirmed that Blankety Blank will return for a further two series.
Both series will consist of 10 episodes and in each one, Bradley will be joined by six celebrities.

The celebs will try and help four contestants win some of telly's most "unique" prizes.
Speaking on the recommission, Bradley said: “I tell you what, there isn’t a show quite like Blankety Blank – it’s absolutely brilliant fun from start to finish.
"The celebrities will come up to me after a record and tell me how much fun they had filming, but more importantly, so do the contestants.
"These wonderful people come on to the show wanting a great experience and boy do they get it – because let’s be honest, they’re not there for the prizes are they?!”
Charlie Irwin, Managing Director of Thames (a Fremantle label), added: “It’s been a huge privilege to be part of the team in charge of bringing Blankety Blank to new audiences.
"We are thrilled with how it's been received and are so excited to make more for the BBC.
"We genuinely love this show and filming it is an absolute joy."
Blankety Blank first aired in 1979 with Terry Wogan as the host, before Les Dawson took over from 1984 until 1990.
It was then revived by Paul O'Grady under his drag alter ego Lily Savage from 1997 to 2002.

Blankety Blank airs on BBC One and is available on BBC iPlayer.
