Scotland vs Wales LIVE SCORE: Jordan scores two tries as Scottish run riot against lacklustre Welsh – latest

  • Scotland 28-8 Wales

It was a fairly desperate display from Wales in the first half.

They managed just 39% possession and 37% territory.

They missed four times more tackles than Scotland (16, 4).

Add to the mix zero offloads and zero line breaks, and you have a pretty unpleasant recipe.

  • HALFTIME: Scotland 28-8 Wales

A manic 'last play' period ultimately comes to nought as Wales kick to touch out the back, putting themselves out of their misery.

It was a brutal first half showing from Scotland, who have dominated the play for long stretches, leaving Wales looking somewhat helpless.

What will Matt Sherratt pull out in the team talk, and will it have any effect? It all remains to be seen in the second period.

  • Scotland 28-8 Wales

It is worth noting that Scotland are already on for a bonus point, and have been for quite some time.

  • Scotland 28-8 Wales

A rare mistake from Scotland as a missed pass sees the hosts drop back a few meters.

Those are the chances Wales need to be taking advantage of if they are to halt Scotland's momentum.

  • TRY! (Jordan) Scotland 28-8 Wales

Deary, deary me. A comedy blunder from Wales.

Blair Murray is running out of space on the wing and heaves a blind offload into the centre of the pitch, which is dropped by a panicked Thomas.

The ball drops to Scotland's Jordan who grubbers it into the in-goal and subsequently grounds it.

Schoolboy errors from Wales as Russell converts again.

  • Scotland 21-8 Wales

Wales are drowning. The daffodil bed is swamped.

Scotland's backs are beyond lively today and the men in red simply cannot cope.

Willgriff John is dismissed for repeat offence, the deciding penalty being a simple offside. He'll spend ten minutes in the sin bin.

  • TRY! (Graham) Scotland 21-8 Wales

Anything Wales can do, Scotland do better.

For the second time today, Wales get points on the board and concede moments later.

It is another classy backs move from the hosts - this time it is who puts in an Ashton-esque swan dive into the in-goal.

    Russell converts. Wales trail.

  • TRY! (Murray) Scotland 14-8 Wales

Oh, that is spectacular rugby. Very easy on the eyes from Wales.

Wales find themselves in the Red Zone for what might be the first time today, and a cheeky kick over the Scotland line sees Murray in for an unchallenged try.

The conversion does not look a particularly difficult one, but Anscombe knocks it off the post - that miss could prove costly later on.

  • Scotland 14-3 Wales

Another penalty goes against Scotland, who are penalised for entering the ruck from the side.

That is a second penalty at the breakdown of the afternoon, surely something Gregor Townsend will touch on in his halftime team talk.

  • Scotland 14-3 Wales

Referee Andrea Piardi takes pity on Thomas.

There was definitely a high hand in play, but the ref takes a pragmatic view and decides there was no intent.

17 minutes on the clock. Play on.

  • Scotland 14-3 Wales

    The TMO is in play.

Wales' Ben Thomas is under investigation for potential foul play after heading into contact with a dubious attempt at a stiff arm.

He hit his marker around eye level, but intent will be the deciding factor.

  • Scotland 14-3 Wales

Scotland are not letting off the gas.

Anscombe is feeling his feet and launches a ball deep into Welsh territory to tighten the pressure on the visitors, who are already looking a touch dismayed.

Don't speak too soon, but number 16 seems may well be on the way.

  • TRY! (Jordan) Scotland 14-3 Wales

Another for Scotland! Misery abound for Wales, and there are only 10 minutes on the clock!

The ball is worked to Huw Jones on the wing, and he blitzes the Welsh defence before putting a neat pass inside for Jordan to finish.

Russell converts, putting his Twickenham hoodoo to bed.

A mountain for the visitors to climb already.

  • TRY! (Kinghorn) Scotland 7-3 Wales

Barely three minutes later and Scotland have already responded!

It is a textbook try for the hosts, who whip the ball through the hands and get it to the wing in short order for Kinghorn to finish.

Russell converts, and Wales lead is short lived.

  • PENALTY (Anscombe) Scotland 0-3 Wales

Well, that hasn't taken long at all. Wales open the scoring after two and a half minutes!

It is a long range effort from Anscombe but well within his range. His boot sneaks in at the left post.

  • Scotland 0-0 Wales

Scotland make an early interception and could have been in for a try, but Wales were carrying an advantage and the referee pulls it back.

Penalty to Wales, and Anscombe is lining up a shot at goal.

  • KICKOFF: Scotland 0-0 Wales

    Wales get us underway.

A campaign defining 80 minutes await for both teams.

Who will lift the Doddie Weir Cup? Stay tuned to find out.

  • Time for the anthems

The teams are out, and the anthems are playing.

Wales get us started with a rousing rendition of 'Land of my Fathers', and Scotland more than match their energy.

Feeling the nerves yet? Kickoff comes next!

  • 5 minutes to go

Kickoff at Murrayfield is now imminent, and Ireland vs France has just wrapped up over in Dublin.

France took an emphatic 27-42 victory over their hosts, placing one hand on the Six Nations trophy in the process, moving two points clear in first place.

Scotland can only move as high as third with a win and a bonus point today.

  • Wales' support are not put off by the results!

The prospect of watching a sixteenth consecutive loss has not put off the travelling support, who are out in full show!

Countering the armies of kilted Scots are a patch of Daffodils and a crop of other liveried supporters.

  • Scotland take to the pitch

Finn Russell is out early for warmups.

The Scottish co-captain is getting some kicks in after missing crucial spot-kicks against England.

He won't want a repeat of last week.

  • Can Wales end their losing streak?

Wales' 15-match losing streak is already an embarrassing state of affairs, and to lose a 16th today would only make matters worse.

The Daffodils do, however, have a strong record against Scotland in the Six Nations, having won 13 of their last 17 tests in the competition.

To make matters worse for Wales, they are winless in their last nine Six Nations matches, their worst ever run in the competition.

Scotland have won this tie in each of the last two years - a win today would mark the first time they have won three in a row against Wales.

  • Team news - Wales stick, Scots twist

Wales head to Edinburgh with an unchanged starting XV for the first time since the 2019 World Cup.

This is the squad which pushed Ireland all the way last time out, coming agonizingly close to ending what is now a 15-game losing run.

Scotland have shuffled the deck somewhat, with winger Darcy Graham returning to the squad after having recovered from concussion.

Prop Rory Sutherland also returns, having missed the England match after suffering a back spasm in warmups.

  • When is kick-off?

Kick-off at Murrayfield is not far away.

The match will get underway at 4:45pm, not long after the conclusion of Ireland vs France, where the score currently stands at 13-25 in favor of the visitors.
