"My thoughts are with his family and friends."
Pro dancer Robin, who appeared on the BBC favourite from series eight through to 11, was confirmed to have died today by his Burn The Floor performance troupe.
The dancing pro first competed on the BBC series in 2010 with Patsy Kensit, reaching week nine of the competition before being eliminated.
He later competed with Anita Dobson, Lisa Riley and Dragon's Den's Deborah Meaden.
For Children In Need in 2011, he partnered up with Good Morning Britain's Susanna Reid for a special episode.
Susanna was told of Robin's death while live on this morning's show - with her holding back tears as she paid tribute to him.
"Robin was larger than life and I fell in love with him and fell in love with dancing when I danced with him back then," she said. "He was an absolutely remarkable dancer, incredibly strong, so creative, he was just so enthusiastic about dancing. I just adored him.
"He was the most incredible personality. As soon as I danced with him there was something very special about him."
"I can't believe it actually. Such heart, such a talent, such a twinkler," Richard Arnold added to the sentiment.
