Metro station evacuated in Amsterdam due to 'suspicious situation'

Police in Amsterdam have cleared an area around a metro station in the centre of the city.

Explosive experts are investigating at the scene near the Rokin station.

Police from the Dutch capital posted about the cordon on social media website X, describing the reason for the investigation as a "suspicious situation".

The force added: "Rokin metro station has just been evacuated and the area around the station cordoned off."
