Riddiculous viewers sink claws into ‘dire’ Ranvir Singh game show – ranting ‘more boring than watching paint dry!’
RANVIR Singh’s riddle-some game show returned to ITV for its second season yesterday, but viewers were not impressed and slated the “boring show” and “dire presentation.”
Some ITV viewers even switched off just minutes into the quiz show.
Journalist and TV presenter Ranvir Singh hosts Ridiculous, the quiz show which combines riddles with general knowledge. Her co-host and the show’s riddle master is playwright Henry Lewis.
Opening the new series which premiered yesterday, Ranvir celebrated the New Year. She said: “Happy New Year, and welcome to a brand new series of Riddiculous.
“This is the ridiculously clever show where three teams of riddle solvers take on our devious riddle master,” she added, before turning to her co-host.
“Hello, Henry, so what do you have in store for us today?” she asked

Henry greeted her and then dived right in. “I think you’re going to like today’s riddles, Ranvir. They are some of my finest,” he said.
Kicking off the show, he asked: “What will a mechanic do to a car with no tread or just do themselves after many years instead?”
Ranvir was impressed with the rhyming riddle but deferred answering to give one of the show’s contestants a chance.
Welcoming teams Duncan and Glen, Sophie and Molly, and Kay and Hashim, to the show, it was Sophie who guessed the answer correctly.
“Retire,” she said.
“That’s absolutely right, well done,” Henry praised. Explaining for viewers at home, he said: “Of course, you retire at the end of your career … or re-tire your car.”
Unfortunately, viewers at home were not as impressed as Henry.
Taking to X, formerly Twitter, one viewer slammed the show: “Riddiculous really is boring af to watch!”
Another elaborated on some of the “boring” elements of the show, saying: “Boring Presentation! Boring Presenters! Just a boring show.”
They continued, saying watching paint dry would be more fun than watching the game show: “Where’s that paint brush so I can watch some paint dry as it’ll be much more exciting than this show.”
“Riddiculous could be an okay quiz programme if it wasn’t for the presenters and their dire presentation. They didn’t learn anything from the first series,” a third viewer agreed.
A fourth viewer added that they felt that the dynamic between Ranvir and Henry is too forced. “There’s just something missing, like some chemistry or an atmosphere. It just seems a bit cold,” they said.
Another social media user said they couldn’t even watch the show and switched off almost immediately. “1 minute and 45 seconds. That’s how long I lasted. It lives up to its name.”
Continuing to dig their claws in, the viewer took a swipe at the presenters, adding: “GMTV presenters are so wooden, who ever thought this would be a good idea?”
After switching off the viewer missed couple Kay and Hashim go on to beat the competition.
The pair carved out their place in the final round and, after answering as many riddles as they could within the time limit, earned a total of £1,925.

As Ranvir explained, Kay and Hashim had the chance to up their money to £3,850 by answering one last riddle within 20 seconds.
However, they chose to go home with what they had rather than risk losing it all.
