Upon his arrival in Germany, Gross said: "I'm really looking forward to BVB. For me, this move is simply a huge thing, because I've been a Dortmund fan since I was a little boy.
"I will try to repay the club's trust with my style and I can't wait to play in front of the BVB fans at the Signal Iduna Park with my new teammates and to work together with everyone to ensure that we achieve our big goals."
Pascal Gross has officially left Brighton to join boyhood club Borussia Dortmund.
In a statement, Brighton chairman Tony Bloom said: "In terms of his contribution on the pitch, Pascal goes down as the club's greatest-ever Premier League signing. He has been with us since the start of the Premier League era, and has been such a superb player for us.
"He has been a joy to watch and contributed so many important and memorable moments across the last seven seasons. I am really sad to see him leave - and I know it has not been an easy decision for him - but I understand his desire to see out his career at the top of the German game with the club he grew up supporting.
"On behalf of all Brighton & Hove Albion fans I would like to wholeheartedly thank Pascal, and I wish him well with Dortmund. The term legend is often overused, but in Pascal's case he is a genuine legend of this club and will be welcome back here at any time in the future."
Conor Gallagher has turned down a three-year contract offer from Chelsea, according to The Athletic.
The midfielder appears to be heading for the exit door this summer with Atletico Madrid now the frontrunners for his signature.
Chelsea have agreed a fee of around £35million with the Spanish side but had hoped to persuade Gallagher to stay by offering him a new deal - as the England star has just a year remaining on his current contract.

Arsenal's pursuit of Mikel Merino could be aided by Real Sociedad's admission that they may have to sell the Spain international.
Sociedad president Jokin Aperribay told Mundo Deportivo: "I don’t know.
"We are aware that Merino has offers, and we know them.
"The conversation with him and those around him has been very sincere and hopefully his decision is to stay. He already knows that we want him to stay.
"He has had a renewal offer for some time. And if not, we will try to negotiate the best way out for Real.
"What we think is that the club has to look to the future. Try to be stronger every year or every day.
"You don’t have to hide behind a contract when a player tells you that he wants to take advantage of an opportunity. Daily work makes us stronger."

He said: "I am very happy that we’ve got Riccardo [Calafiori] done.

"It increases the quality and the competition and it's very good for the team."
Jurgen Klopp has ruled himself out of taking any new management job, including England, right now - and hinted his coaching days may be over for good.
The German, 57, stepped down as Liverpool boss at the end of last season after nine, trophy-laden years at Anfield left him “running out of energy”.
He has been touted as a possible successor to Gareth Southgate, who quit as Three Lions chief after losing last month’s Euros final.
But any hopes fans may have of Klopp stepping into Southgate’s shoes appear to be dashed after his comments at the International Coaches’ Congress in Wurzburg, Germany.
The Reds icon said: “At the moment, there is nothing at all in terms of jobs. No club, no country.
“England? That would be the biggest loss of face in the history of football if I said I’ll make an exception for you.
"I'm going to do some work. I'm too young to only do padel tennis and grandchildren. Will that be as a coach again? I would actually rule that out at the moment.
"Let's see what it will look like in a few months. Nothing is coming through at the moment."
Leicester City have cooled their interest in Arsenal winger Reiss Nelson.
Foxes boss Steve Cooper was keen on signing the 24-year-old, who played for him at England Under-16 and Under-17 level.
However despite opening talks with the Gunners over a potential move, Leicester have seen their initial interest spark interest in other Premier League clubs.
SunSport understands Leicester have been unable to match some of the financial packages being offered to Nelson by rival Prem clubs.
Although Cooper hasn't given up all hope of landing the talented winger, he is realistic enough to accept it has become a long shot and he is now moving on to other potential signing targets.
Nottingham Forest are on the brink of signing Jota Silva - who is known as the Portuguese Jack Grealish!
The 24-year-old winger is a Grealish lookalike with his long locks, hairband and rolled-down-socks.
On the plus side, Forest will only pay Vitoria Guimaraes an initial £5.9million to land the Portuguese international - £94million less than Man City paid to prise Grealish away from Aston Villa.
However, if he shines Forest will need to pay Guimaraes a further £4.2million in add-ons.
Silva travelled to the UK today to undergo a club medical and finalise his personal terms.
Arsenal have received a fresh bid for Eddie Nketiah, according to reports..
The Athletic claim the Ligue 1 giants have tabled a £17million for the striker, who played second fiddle to Gabriel Jesus and Gabriel Martinelli last season.
Nketiah, who is keen for more first-team football, was recently urged by former Gunners hitman Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to swap north London for the south of France.
West Ham are close to agreeing a deal with Manchester United to sign Aaron Wan Bissaka.
However, the defender's wage demands could prove problematic when it comes to personal terms.
Wan-Bissaka, 26, has one year remaining on his deal at Old Trafford meaning he could agree a pre-contract with a club overseas in January on lucrative terms.
The Hammers are confident of securing a deal with the Red Devils, with a fee north of £10million, but are pushing to find a compromise on wages.
New boss Julen Lopetegui is keen to sign a right-back and thought he had landed Bayern Munich's Noussair Mazraoui.

Southampton's Kyle Walker-Peters has also been discussed, though he is lower down on the priority list for Lopetegui.
Brentford are open to keeping Ivan Toney this summer - after his replacement Igor Thiago was ruled out with a knee injury until around Christmas.
Thiago, 23, joined the Bees for a club record £30million from Club Bruges in June with the view to succeeding wantaway Toney.
But the Brazilian damaged his meniscus in last month's (JULY) 5-2 pre-season win against AFC Wimbledon and the club are not expecting him back until around the festive period.
The hammer blow could complicate plans to sell Toney, who has less than a year left on his contract.
Brentford were planning on flogging the England forward, 28, this summer to avoid losing him on a free next June.
They were even open to dropping their £60m price tag when no offers materialised, despite the likes of Arsenal, Tottenham and Chelsea all monitoring Toney’s progress.
The prospect of selling him on the cheap now looks far less likely though due to Thiago’s serious injury - though Toney could still be sold if a bid is received that is judged a fair price.
