The mum-of-two said: "In our case, what we had is we had a great big bloody hole in the door, because with the old hot, air ducting system that we used to have in this house, I think it was a legal requirement that you had to have a great big bloody hole in the door, which was literally half the size of my head.

"And that was just open. It made a 5 degree difference in the house. It was a nightmare."

Before they had the funds to replace the door, Klaire revealed the savvy trick they used to keep the hot air in and the cold air out of the house.

Her hack can be also be used for doors and windows that are poorly sealed and let draughts in.

The best way to check if you have a draught in your doors or windows is by placing a hand around the door to see if you can feel cold air coming in.

You can also check for draughts by using this clever candle trick.

If you do, it could be well worth trying Klaire's heating hack.

She explained that it cost her just £8 to buy and made an instant difference to the warmth of her house before she got a new door without a hole in the middle of it.

The UK-based mum said: "But until then, one of the things that we did is we put doorway curtains.

"And these are just cheap doorway curtains. I think I got them from Pound Stretcher. They were about £8."

Klaire then used an adjustable clothes rail to screw into the wall and hang the curtain up in the hallway to prevent the draught from coming into the home and stop the hot air from leaving.

She also added you could go to a charity shop and buy some thermal curtains secondhand for a budget-friendly option.

"Doorway curtains, they make a huge, huge difference if you've got a door which is just really draughty and making a big difference to the temperature of your house," she added.

Klaire's house warming hacks have gone viral on her TikTok account @klairedelysofficial where she has amassed over 30,000 followers and 900k likes.

People were quick to take to the comments to thank her for the advice and share their own tips.

One person wrote: "Brilliant! Never would of thought of this."

Another commented: "I know, me neither! Great idea!"

"We've just got some of these but we've used extendable shower rails so we can remove them in the summer," penned a third.

Someone else added: "Also wanted to add, when our duvet covers get old or the boys are sick of dinosaurs and have aged out of them, we dye them a plain colour and turn them in to curtains.
