Every petrolhead dreams of the perfect place to work on their prize possession and now a stunning state-of-the-art design is sure to tick every box imaginable.

It comes as 2,000 motor enthusiasts shared their ideal features via a OnePoll study, from hydraulic lifts to custom tool storage.

Design firm, Bindloss Dawes, was commissioned by eBay to combine these wishes and create the perfect garage.

It has automatic doors, top of the range diagnostic equipment, and is large enough to comfortably sit two classic bangers.

And, car lovers can enjoy working in the luxurious new space all year round with air con and heating installed.

In addition to a full body workshop with custom tools and storage, the ideal garage also has a tyre changer, air compressor, and a hydraulic car lift.

There would even be a built-in drainage system to allow indoor car washes and powerful ventilation for spray painting.

Plus, motor enthusiasts wouldn't have to worry about noise bothering the neighbours - with nearly 80 per cent wanting the space soundproofed.

Lastly, most car lovers also wanted a few extras such as a fridge, mini-kitchen, jukebox and pool table - to relax as well as work.

It comes after research found that 42 per cent of garage owners are disillusioned by theirs and are then less likely to use it.

It is so important to car lovers that a whopping 64 per cent said they would move house if it came with the "perfect garage".

Not only would they relocate - they would pay nearly five per cent over the asking price to nab the facilities.

The study discovered that 58 per cent of car enthusiasts have a garage, and 22 per cent of those spend three or more hours a week in the space.

Laura Richards, for eBay UK, a seller of automotives and automotive tools and accessories, said: "Garages were originally designed to house cars but with vehicles getting bigger and bigger they no longer provide enough space.

“This got us wondering what the perfect garage would look like now - specifically according to car enthusiasts, who spend their weekends undertaking car repairs and modifications.

“Respondents were not short of ideas, knowing exactly what they want from their ultimate motoring sanctuary.”

When it comes to the motors stored inside the garages, an Aston Martin DB5 was the most desired, with 22 per cent calling it their dream.

However, the Jaguar E-Type (18 per cent), Porsche 911 (17 per cent), Ford Mustang (17 per cent), and the Audi R8 (17 per cent) closely followed.
