Arsenal transfer news LIVE: Gunners £200MILLION triple deal EXCLUSIVE, Gyokeres ‘lower asking price’, Isak move OFF

  • Ancelotti not worried about discipline

Carlo Ancelotti says he has no special plans for the Real Madrid players walking the disciplinary tight-rope in the Champions League quarter-final first leg against Arsenal.

The holders will be without Aurelien Tchouameni for the big game in north London as the midfielder is suspended after picking up his third booking in the competition during the last-16 penalty shootout win over Atletico Madrid.

Ahead of Tuesday night’s clash, Vinicius Junior is among six Real Madrid players who are at risk of a ban.

The Brazilian and Lucas Vazquez boast four yellows apiece thus far in the campaign and UEFA rules stipulate a fifth booking at the Emirates Stadium will result in a one-game suspension.

However, Ancelotti has suggested that the threat of suspensions will not impact his Real Madrid team selection against the Gunners.

“I'm not going to change anything,” the Italian told reporters. “We know that if they can't play in Madrid we have substitutes. Tchouameni is suspended for tomorrow.”

“It was really tough initially to find out the extent of my injury, that I was going to have to have surgery … But once it was done and it was successful, I was just focused on coming back stronger and had a lot of time.

“Obviously the past five years I’ve been playing game after game, so it was the first proper break I’ve had and it was really good for me. I got to do a lot of things that I don’t really normally do. I can give you many, many examples, but you will get bored. It’s really nice to be back and I feel fresh mentally for sure.”

  • Arteta wants to build a story

When asked whether Arsenal need to make a big statement against Real Madrid to join the elite, Arteta said: “That’s exactly what we need.

“To create that, you have to go through hurdles and we’ve been though one to reach the quarter final for the first time in a long time and now we’ve done it twice in a row.

“It's been 20 years since we had this type of game and for us, it's a great opportunity to build our own story and this is what we're here for.

“Now we want much more and we are capable of doing, very capable of doing it. I have full belief that we can do it and the team, and everybody in the stadium, will feel the same way.”

"United f***d that s*** up. They f***d that one up because I wanted Declan and I advised a couple of people there to get Declan at all costs.

  • Arsenal in race to sign German

Arsenal and Liverpool cannot be discounted from the race to sign Bayern Leverkusen star Florian Wirtz, according to TBR Football.

Graeme Bailey said: “A lot of people ask about Wirtz and why it seems it is only Bayern Munich and Man City that are pushing hard to sign him.

“It is true they are at the front of the queue, if he decides to leave Bayer Leverkusen this summer and that ‘if’ remains the key – as we have reported in the last few weeks, we don’t know what he is thinking – does he sign a new deal and stay for another 12-months, or leave?

“Bayern have had a wonderful 2025 when it comes to their playing staff – their chiefs Max Eberl and Christoph Freund have managed to seal new deals for Alphonso Davies, Joshua Kimmich and Jamal Musiala, when at the turn of the year – the future of all three looked in some doubt.

“Eberl and Freund received major criticism last summer when their hunt for a new head coach saw them scrambling around before they finally landed in Vincent Kompany, who has proved a success.

“Now they have the full trust at the club and they are working hard on this summer’s potential arrivals and the player at he top of their list is Wirtz – he is widely regarded as the best player for his age in Europe, he really is up there with the likes of Jude Bellingham, Pedri, Gavi etc when it comes to talent.

“Man City love him, as we know, and they are doing everything they can to persuade.

“And whilst Bayern and City have done the most work to this point, I am told not to totally discount others, especially in just making an offer – if you are Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool or even Real Madrid – who all like him – why wouldn’t you at least have the conversation?”

  • What to expect from Berta

Spanish journalist Guillem Balague has shared an insight into what to expect from new Arsenal sporting director Andrea Berta.

He told TNT Sports: "You have to say that he was the architect of the Atletico Madrid that won the league twice, got to the Champions League final twice, won the Europa League.

"That’s him working alongside Simeone in a very discreet way. He doesn’t give interviews, doesn’t give press conferences.

"We don’t know personally much about him, but certainly he’s a top negotiator and considered one of the best in the business. This is a guy that’s done very well in the context of Real Madrid and Barcelona.

"They have more money and yet he managed to get that extra bit that Arsenal doesn’t seem to get.

"So he’s been described to me by one of the decision makers, one of the ones that decided to bring him in, that he’s experienced, he’s a hard worker and he’s very brave. But basically, he’s going to have to be creative as well. Arsenal are not here with the intention of spending £200 or £300 million.

"They just want to be creative with what they’ve got and what they bring in. They’re going to have to find three or four players that go straight into the starting line up. I would say a left winger, centre-forward and holding midfielder.

"We heard the names of Martin Zubimendi, [Viktor] Gyokeres perhaps, certainly [Benjamin] Sesko or Nico Williams. Those are the names they will try to get."

"Be the team that we have been the last quarter of the season, with all the ups and downs and things that we have had to deal with.

"I think they love me back so it is a good relationship.

"I am really happy to be here and I'm just focused on winning.

"I don't think anyone is really in a rush [to sign a new deal]. I have got two years left on my contract so it is pretty relaxed.

" I want to win and I want to win wearing this badge."
