Posting on social media, Lisa wrote: “Things I wish I knew as a first time mum.”

In the short clip, we saw her beautiful blonde-haired toddler laying in bed.

Lisa then shared her simple trick to ensure that her little one never wakes up thirsty in the night.

And no, it’s not a sippy cup or a water bottle - in fact, with Lisa’s hack, she uses a classic glass hanging water dispenser, with a metal straw at the bottom, to ensure her youngster never goes without.

Strikingly similar to something you’d expect to find in a rabbit’s hutch or in a hamster’s cage, Lisa used a cable tie to attach the water dispenser to a slat on her daughter’s bed.

Thrilled with her find, Lisa penned: “She always has water when she needs it.”

We then saw the little darling smile, as she beamed out of bed to take a sip from her new water dispenser.

The TikTok clip, which was posted under the username @ljflommom, just 22 hours ago, has clearly left many open-mouthed, as it has quickly gone viral.

It has since amassed a jaw-dropping 5.1 million views and whilst over 10,000 people saved the video and 95,000 shared it, more than 8,100 users took to the comments to share their thoughts.

But parents weren’t impressed with Lisa’s hack, as many claimed the water dispenser is for animals and not children

I binned my kids’ drawings, toys & seven sackfuls of clothes - it’s just rubbish, I was ruthless but feel so much better

One person said: “That’s for guinea pigs.”

Another added: “Omg so we are treating children like hamsters.”

That’s a joke right?

A third asked: “Is she a hamster?”

Meanwhile, someone else penned: “That’s a joke right? Your child is NOT a rabbit!”

'SHE COULD USE A CUP'

Not only this, but many parents questioned why Lisa couldn’t just give her daughter a water bottle to drink through throughout the night.

One mother asked: “What happened to sippy cups and drink bottles?”

How much water should I be drinking?

WATER makes up more than 66 per cent of our bodies, and it's important to drink enough every day.

The NHS advise drinking six to eight glasses of fluids per day.

However, drinking way more than that can impact negatively on your health too.

To put it into another perspective, this is about three or four 500ml bottles of water.

Drinking low-fat milks and sugar-free drinks as well as plain breakfast tea, coffee and herbal tea all count towards what the NHS recommends.

Young kids and old people are most at risk of dehydration.

A second wrote: “Or just get her a bottle…”
