8 sent to hospital, 170 evacuated over fire in Hong Kong residential building

Eight people were sent to hospital and 170 evacuated after a fire broke out in a residential building in Hong Kong’s Mong Kok district on Friday morning.

Police said they received reports of a blaze at Cheung Fai Mansion on Tong Mi Road at around 6am.

A man in his 40s, who was found unconscious, and seven other residents who had inhaled smoke, were sent to Kwong Wah Hospital in Yau Ma Tei, according to the force.
